@PBCool Perhaps you could help me, I work at a local ISP (Metacom).

When doing a trace towards my home connection (cool ideas), it goes via NAP CPT through to London and back down.

This started happening about 2 weeks ago.

So I received a called from Telisha telling me that my line will be released (by tomorrow latest).

So the complaint with ISPA worked I guess ...

Hi this usually means you have setup peering to HE as per their guidelines with local preffing.

I sent the ISPA an email , which they replied and said this is logged as an informal complaint, the ISP has 5 days to respond and resolve this matter, and after 5 days not resolved, it will become a formal complaint.

Let’s see how this goes ...
This becomes a formal complaint if ISPA finds it to be our fault. Your ISPA complaint had nothing to do with your line being released as they only get processed in a few days.

I quote Telisha (23rd July) - "I can confirm that your order will be released today and the service will be billed till the 31st of August 2019 "

So its either she knows nothing or you know nothing, but whatever it may be, my complaint with ISPA really got her attention to give me a call.

And as for you, your service is in line with your company, pathetic, as you didn't bother getting back to me even after I gave you the info you requested.

Confirmation that the line has been released, would be nice.

Sadly, streaming to twitch directly is still a sh*tstorm... Tried now with 6mbit. Constantly dropping below 1mbit. Pretty much unusable for me still...

Edit: At 4mbit getting about 5% - 10% dropped frames. Still pretty poor.
Just as a random question. Have you tried SpeedGuide.net's TCP optimizer ?

https://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

After applying the following I had a major improvement in my twitch streaming rates ~3mbps bumped to ~10mbps average.

Just out of curiosty why can't MetroFibre on CISP release a line before the end of the month? is it an internal policy or due to extra fees? Thanks for any info on this!

This was cancelled this morning as well, there are quite a few lines on aerial where there is a portal error. If it still comes us as unavailable to your new ISP they will need to engage with Vumatels Dev department.

It is due to their internal processing which is a manual thing.

I've just spoken to Afrihost support and they tell me that I should be able to ask CISP to manually release the line.

So you're saying it's up to them (Afrihost) to now fix this issue?

It's cancelled on our side so there is no manual cancellation, so it would be up to the new ISP to ask Vumatel to get it into the correct state to accept it.
