They probably just busy restoring the back-haul onto their Primary paths again, so you will get latency/loss as routes change over.

All working just fine in Cape Town, Vuma Trenched.

There are currently massive DDOS attacks going on at UK exchanges, nothing CISP can do about it.
I am sure the engineers in UK is working on it too resolve asap.

I really don't blame @PBCool and @TheRoDent for not really posting here when some things go crazy...

With the way some people act around here i'm 100% sure they would then get messages of "Well if you were actually working on the issue, instead of posting here the whole time"

xD People really need to understand how tech and fault finding in tech works.

I can promise everybody that CISP will have a million dashboards showing the current state of the network and as soon as a threshold is reached an alert will be sent out and people will start looking into it.

There is no such thing as "click this to fix that" everything takes time and if you apply the wrong "fix" to a problem, you risk doing even more damage.

So I sent them a message on Facebook with some info on my issue, just trying to troubleshoot and find out if it is not something on my side.

I was told to go read the announcements (thanks for that). I then asked if this is related to the DDoS issues, haven't had a reply to that one.

Everything is amazing with Cool Ideas, just don't have an issue and you will be fine. Customer support is lacking to put it politely.

Last time I had an issue I asked for a supervisor / manager to call me, that was a couple months back and I am still waiting for that call (luckily I didn't hold my breath!). At that stage I also sent PBCool a message here on MyBB, that got ignored (I have no doubt you get a massive amount of messages and support requests, but it doesn't make me feel any better when it is my message getting brushed under the carpet. However that being said I am very appreciative that we have this additional avenue of contact here on MyBB, and certainly appreciate the feedback we do receive here in this thread.).

I understand issues happen, things break and so and so forth, but all I ask for is communication and to be kept in the loop, getting ignored when asking for that is the worst.

There is a lot that is out of your control Cool Ideas and I am sure a lot that you need to wait for from third parties when it comes to resolving issues. However, customer service and communication is something VERY much under your control and something you can get right.

Now this is good feedback on a service issue a customer has!

Thanks for the feedback and we are well aware of it, hence us changing internal structure completely. So we are always trying to improve this portion of our business and why we are still around for feedback.

So to update on the issues experienced last night, and some this morning.

There was a large DDoS in effect which then triggered our layer2 to London to flap from Johannesburg, as it was being mitigated at one edge it was then coming in another, it seemed to be quite targeted at certain hosts.

This is what lead us to initially believe it was a carrier issue but was a side effect of the DDoS. Once we got a handle on the mitigation on the transit level it caused a border router at LINX to hang up, hence the random latency and loss to LINX peers at the same time.

So basically it boils down to the DDoS creating a few issues one after the other, so we are working on the solution.

Apologies again.

Thanks for the update, as a suggestion can we have these explanations affecting service appended to the announcement on the site.

My current situation as has been for the past week, I think, I haven't been home everyday to test but it was the same issue last week Monday, Tuesday and Friday, I can't even load the outages page currently, Facebook and myBB has timed out in the last few minutes.

Honestly, I love the clarity of CISP and the extra things they do. No other ISP even offers details to the extent these guys do on the forums. Pushing boundaries like renting capacity the cable to South America, local twitch stuff etc.

But its really starting to drive me bonkers. Working from home + competitive gaming has been a nightmare the past week. I have basically been playing sit in discord and become the robotic voice entertainer, while my friends play.

In-Game network test on a Blizzard Server. Sometimes jumps to 15-30% and is unplayable. Sometimes I just straight up can't even log into the servers. Not sure where to really start with troubleshooting, or if it is just chaos all over the place for every ISP right now.
