Just checked Apex and brazil pings are now 390ms. So looks like SACS is completely disabled.
I couldn't play RoE yesterday. EU was also pegged in the high 300s and I couldn't get any games on their US servers. Matchmaking which usually takes less than 1min.

We can take turns?
The option that CISP suggested had to announce a range op IPS straight to London with a VPN, would mean they could have the best of both worlds. Keep SACS up and satisfy the "EU required" gamers.

I would guess that would even mean lower pings for the gamers to UK/EU. 160 - 180ms to 150ms - 160ms.

I did a few tests the past weekend with NordVPN straight to London and it produced low 150s. This is ex CPT though.

Low 150's via a VPN is solid... Without a VPN you should be getting low 140's... Been looking at some looking glass tests and found a network that gave 142ms to London

@PBCool @TheRoDent,

I'm seeing some weird routing to Microsoft Azure servers hosted in JHB. I'm getting 30ms+ to the new Rainbow Six Siege servers hosted in JHB when I used to get about 14ms.

This is the traceroute I get to one of their Joburg IP's:
Code:
 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 10.0.0.2
  2 * * * Request timed out.
  3 5 ms 5 ms 11 ms c25-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.77]
  4 5 ms 4 ms 5 ms c2e-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.86]
  5 4 ms 5 ms 5 ms c2t-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.101]
  6 5 ms 4 ms 5 ms c1h-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.53]
  7 4 ms 4 ms 5 ms uuu-cust.coolideas.co.za [154.0.4.86]
  8 13 ms 13 ms 13 ms c6t-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.245]
  9 12 ms 13 ms 13 ms 100.99.0.82
 10 32 ms 31 ms 31 ms 100.99.0.36

 12 32 ms 31 ms 31 ms microsoft.ixp.capetown [196.10.140.47]
 13 33 ms 31 ms 31 ms ae22-0.icr01.cpt20.ntwk.msn.net [104.44.237.57]
 14 31 ms 31 ms 32 ms be-100-0.ibr01.cpt20.ntwk.msn.net [104.44.20.207]
 15 32 ms 31 ms 31 ms be-5-0.ibr01.jnb21.ntwk.msn.net [104.44.7.138]
 16 30 ms 31 ms 31 ms ae100-0.icr01.jnb21.ntwk.msn.net [104.44.20.76]
 17 * * * Request timed out.
(All the requests time out after this)

On the Azure latency test I'm getting the same latency to their JHB servers that I get to their CPT servers, which makes no sense to me as I'm in KZN:

So I have quite a bit of experience with networking but Fiber not so much, and since Sunday morning the link goes down, comes up a few hours later, and goes down again. Sunday it went down at 10am, came back 2am Monday Morning. Last night at 7pm it dropped like a sack of chilli dogs at an american football game. It was back up this morning when I left for work at 5am. I am expecting it to go down again and likely come up again. Anybody else experienced this? Something tells me something somewhere is intermittently faulty but I don't want to update my CISP ticket because I heard that drops you to the bottom of the list :p

Are the people around (neighbours) you dropping as well? Maybe you got a kink in your fibre? We once got a kink in our Openserve fibre (when we were using them) and it caused hell for us, it eventually just stopped working and they had to come out to fix it...

Have asked a senior to check up on this for you. Either a bad fibre, or maybe a power supply issue on the CPE ?
