And my line just went down with SADV. Anybody else having issues today?
line disconnected around the same time:
2019/12/04 10:39
pppd[1607]: Modem hangup
but reconnected immediately.
seems stable this afternoon.

I ended up going to the office in my remote day to do work. I’ll check on my end if it’s still up when I get home

You too?

It’s back now... someone fiddling with patch cables again
Yup, scares me when I see a local only connection on my PC and network, flipped to backup. Will try CISP again now.

Edit: seems to have only dropped for around a minute and is back and all functional again.

We have put our notice in and cancellation is set for end of the month, in our customer zone it says Next Due Date
2020-01-01 will this change closer to the time?

Worried this transition goes bad and i end up with no internet for a few days while on holiday...

Sigh. So one of the reasons I use symmetric fibre is so that when I'm not at home I can VPN in (I run my own openvpn server). I'm on Vuma 20/20 in Johannesburg. So far it has always worked perfectly, I can easily max out my 20 Mbps upload if the other end is fast enough. I'm now in Durban, and I can barely manage 3.2Mbps back to JHB, and to my surprise Cool Ideas support tells me traffic from Durban to Cool Ideas in JHB is routed via Cape Town, and it has always been the case.
In Durban I have now tried 3 different providers all the same result, so it's not an issue on this side. If I do the same test in JHB I get full line speed, so not my vpn server's fault. WTH is going on? I have always been a keen Cool Ideas supporter but it seems I'm just getting more and more issues these days.

That does not sound correct at all. Think someone is confused with Eastern Cape with goes to Cape Town and not KZN. The best solution is to provide IPs (mtr) and troubleshoot.
I'm in Cape Town now and my VPN in JHB maxes out at its bandwidth provisioned.
