+1. I see the discrepancy to the EUW League of Legends server as well. 154ms via 150.0.4.122 and between 158-162ms via 150.0.4.2

Also, my ping has been super unstable as of yesterday with quite a bit of packet loss, but I'm putting it down to loadshedding etc. I'm not sure if its a general issue, because I've only been playing League :X3:
Probably, i had loadshedding early yesterday morning and late yesterday afternoon but i was perfect whole day, it was actually the best it's been in a good 3 months.... i was actually shocked how good it was.

@PBCool @TheRoDent , can either of you please advise:

I need to have my line changed over from CISP to Vox, as my new contract begins on 1 Jan, but Octotel can only assist before 23 December or after 6 January, which is obviously a lot of downtime for me if this isn't handled properly.

Octotel and Vox have both been helpful, but not a word from CISP - in particular your representative Peron du Preez - who hasn't responded to a single mail in over a week.

I've been very patient, but this is really starting to test me; it's really the most basic service that you can't deliver on: responding to your paying customers.

FYI, this is a last resort to me: I've mailed, I've tweeted, I've logged two tickets, but nothing. I loathe the idea of calling, because if this is any indication, I'll just burn through airtime and still end up without any meaningful result, so I'm hoping you guys can help me out here.

Well here is my single-thread results to coreix. We should be getting the same results but it seems your single-thread is far slower ?

Can you please supply your tracert to Coreix speed servers so that we can compare route .

Do you have a ticket number for me with reference to Perone? Then I can follow up.

Never mind, just ran a speed test on my phone and speed is same as yours.

Will do another test when the F'n electricity is back on from my pc.

EDIT: 16H33

OK PC is also fine now, something along the route got "fixed" at some point today.

It doesn't matter if an intermediate router gives you packet loss. If a router along the path is under load, or has ICMP rate limits, then it might drop packets because ICMP is low priority.

What matters is your packet loss to the destination. Which is zero. So there doesn't appear to be any problem.

Thank you for the quick response. I’ll test it out in game and provide an update as soon as Eskom gives my power back lol

Twitch still seems to buffer constantly for me from Brazil :/

Seems like single threaded performance is just terrible for me, buffering at 360p :/

So while watching DrDisrespect on Twitch i noticed that the live stream is being pulled from JHB, MWEB. First time I've seen this, it's usually from UK or Brazil - Something to do with AWS regions I guess. Looks like the video-weaver is still Brazil based. So how is this possible?

EDIT: Today it seems to be back to pulling from Brazil. No issues for me, just interesting.

To my understanding, Twitch uses Fastly's CDN to pull the data from the streamer's ingest server to your closest POP (they have one in JHB).

We access the content locally but if you stream yourself, the closest ingest server is in London. If it didn't work like this, then I'm pretty sure low latency mode wouldn't work very well.

Here's an interesting read if you want to know more: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2015/12/18/twitch-engineering-an-introduction-and-overview-a23917b71a25/

@PBCool @TheRoDent, could you please kindly look into the issues with Azure routing that I posted a few days ago in this thread, they are still ongoing:
@PBCool @TheRoDent,

I'm seeing some weird routing to Microsoft Azure servers hosted in JHB. I'm getting 30ms+ to the new Rainbow Six Siege servers hosted in JHB when I used to get about 14ms.

This is the traceroute I get to one of their Joburg IP's:
Code:
 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 10.0.0.2
  2 * * * Request timed out.
  3 5 ms 5 ms 11 ms c25-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.77]
  4 5 ms 4 ms 5 ms c2e-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.86]
  5 4 ms 5 ms 5 ms c2t-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.101]
  6 5 ms 4 ms 5 ms c1h-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.53]
  7 4 ms 4 ms 5 ms uuu-cust.coolideas.co.za [154.0.4.86]
  8 13 ms 13 ms 13 ms c6t-backbone.coolideas.co.za [154.0.1.245]
  9 12 ms 13 ms 13 ms 100.99.0.82
10 32 ms 31 ms 31 ms 100.99.0.36
11 34 ms 31 ms 31 ms uxa-cust.coolideas.co.za [154.0.4.174]
12 32 ms 31 ms 31 ms microsoft.ixp.capetown [196.10.140.47]
13 33 ms 31 ms 31 ms ae22-0.icr01.cpt20.ntwk.msn.net [104.44.237.57]
14 31 ms 31 ms 32 ms be-100-0.ibr01.cpt20.ntwk.msn.net [104.44.20.207]
15 32 ms 31 ms 31 ms be-5-0.ibr01.jnb21.ntwk.msn.net [104.44.7.138]
16 30 ms 31 ms 31 ms ae100-0.icr01.jnb21.ntwk.msn.net [104.44.20.76]
17 * * * Request timed out.
(All the requests time out after this)

On the Azure latency test I'm getting the same latency to their JHB servers that I get to their CPT servers, which makes no sense to me as I'm in KZN:
