Does that really seem like flaky/lossy FNO? Is there anything that can be done about it? Performance dips down to lower than 20M, seems like quite an issue tbh.

Cool and informative write-up! I'm quite familiar with the effects of loss combined with latency though, my question to PBCool is more related to inconsistency (see my previous post for example) for extended periods of time, and also if FNO loss is the culprit (don't want to jump to conclusions) then what can be done about it.

Myself and @jannier are both on Vumatel in CPT, but in 2 different areas, on different Vuma PoPs and we are experiencing almost exactly the same "issue", curious...

In October 2018, Cool Ideas was the first South African ISP to go live on the SACS cable. This would be a huge improvement for anyone playing path of exile though a 100ms connection to Brazil but when I ping Brazil its still 373ms?

@Cyphera SACS cable has been someone disabled at the moment because it was causing issues, if you want certain games to go via it you need to let them know and they will look into it, certain games are currently running via it like Overwatch i know i still get 150ms ping.

When requesting an "edge" server as a CDN to serve the stream i imagine it uses lowest ping, which in my case at least is sao paulo, which can be seen from the DNS resolve. Generally speaking i can watch streams just fine outside of peak times but weekends and anything after 6pm is a no go for me, so i doubt it is loss, actually i know it's not loss.

As for vods, we have local AWS edge servers for stored content (Not live) , so guys watching vods won't have any issues.

If you have a PoE IP we can try enable that path again.

Well in your case it seems far more extreme, if the loss is that bad usually it would be poor levels or faulty hardware or MTU related. Have you tried bypassing your router and connecting directly as yet?

Over the past year of troubleshooting packet loss on my line, yes, many times. But I'm willing to try again. I really just want some sort of resolution... What speed would you recommend I run iperfs at for my 1000/100 line?

Well if it's something that's just happened recently I would try bypassing router fast and see from there I would start with 200Mbps then up by 100Mbps each test.
