Actually, doesn't seem to be DNS related. When it's resolving to the international servers, every DNS server I try using nslookup is returning the same address.

I take that back, 1.1.1.1 returns the local address. CISP DNS is routing me internationally.

Yeah the issue was fixed last night after I started phoning.

My only question is why why it took so long??? And why nobody responded to the ticket?

We didn't change anything, more than likely an issue on Vanillas side. Was a ticket logged with them?

These entries are usually controlled by Google as mentioned, will have a look when I can. On leave today so don't have much time.

If i set my router to dish out Quad 1 as the primary DNS and ping google.co.za, then the latency is about 250ms

If I change the DNS to Quad 8 - the latency changes to 180ms to google.co.za on average...

Latter obviously returns a different IP for google.co.za than Quad 1

There are no DNS servers named Quad1 or Quad8, only Quad9 (9.9.9.9). Do you mean Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8)?

I'm using Cloudflare with both DNSSEC and DNS over TLS enabled, and latency to google.co.za is no more than 12ms avg. (from Durban)

The past month very strange things have been happening with routing to all types of google services across all ISPs. Something only google can sort out.

Your guys changed my ip last night which resolved the routing issue. You went on to disclose details of my ticket in public which I'm not appreciating but will let slide.

Feeling like you are not trusting me but really I just experienced absolutely terrible support. And still no explanation?
