Business packages have different SLA levels

If it's that critical that a couple of hours downtime is unacceptable , then YES. I don't think that any of the ISPs have an SLA on home packages - it's all 'best effort' as far as I am aware

I was wondering if a business package would have unaffected by the routing problem this morning, i.e. not being able access many AWS hosted sites?

Looking fine here on openserve in cpt

Thanks, it seems to be localised on my line or area, not sure yet, waiting on feedback from @TheRoDent
Tested with laptop direct into CPE and gives exactly the same speeds as from PC into Mikrotik.
Laptop on Ubuntu and PC on Win10

No idea, I don't have a business package.

If I did and I was affected I'd be liaising with my provider via the channel assigned to Business Customers.

Or something wrong with CoreIX possibly?
Roelf just tested from a device of yours in Cape Town and the speed for him was fine, but for me I keep getting the same throttled speeds to coreix.

Roelf gave my Object number a new IP address, and the issue resolved... no idea why Coreix are throttling my previous IP. I did 1 single threaded test this morning, since the last one done on 17/03. and the speed was normal.

Then 30min later when I wanted to do a second test for someone here on the forum as comparison I got throttled.

No idea why, just weird!!!

I don't think business fibre lines are immune to going down. But what business lines do have are SLAs with penalties. So if they don't deliver the 99% uptime that's in your contract, they need to fork over some dosh.

And just some quick math: 24 hrs per day / 30 days per month is 720 hours. 99% uptime means you can be down for 7 hrs per month. So (assuming the rest of the month stays the same) even if you were on a business line; nothing you could do but accept the downtime. No one can claim to sell a perfect product.

Edit: PS. I just used some round numbers... no idea what uptime guarantee business lines come with

Look like my 99% uptime guess wasn't so far off after all.

PBCool does this relate to my slow Coreix speeds as well?

Edit: I'll be back in a year when they run into congestion issues again :D
Nice man! Feel so bad for the Octotel users... I'm dumbfounded at how many issues they've had over the years, like how does one get to that size as an FNO with such poor planning and upkeep of their network? o_O At least Frogfoot have made a 180 and seem to be delivering a solid service now (judging from what I've seen on these forums)

Do a speedtest to Spitfire Networks London to compare.
Coreix does seem to have problems. On the plus side, I have never seen such good single thread speeds to EU on OCtotel (and this was now, basically peak time)
