Octotel service has really been crap. Upload speeds fine but download is stuffed, on 20/5 but only getting 12Mbps on download. Has Octotel performed their network upgrade in cape gate?
If you're testing to the UK, they're currently having some issues that side

Routing everything seems fine, not related to Jannie's post from what I can see.

Wonder if we're seeing the first impact of free upgrades on the Vuma backbone...

This would be very concerning since they have not done much at all in Cape Town, i only know 1 person out a lot who got upgraded so far and it was a 10meg account and it was late this afternoon only :/

Do you get an alarm on the ONT ?
An alarm i wouldn't know if that existed ?? Where could i check such on the Calix ?
but i get a email from my cloud controller that sits on google telling me when it goes offline which has happened 6 times now

Normally the ONT has an "Alarm" LED

We cannot determine the cause of their BGP disconnects to us. Our interfaces are up, no flapping, and routers have several hundred days of uptime.

It seems to only affect the 1Gbps connections via Teraco and IS Bree street. We suspect it's some part of their backbone flapping.
Ah I see, thanks for the info! If it is something like part of their backbone flapping I'm sure they will get to the bottom of it soon?

Hopefully, weird that it's only the 1Gbps services in both locations in CPT.

Can you do some iperfs for me ?

iperf3.exe -R -u -b 10M -p 17001 -c queen.cisp.co.za
iperf3.exe -R -u -b 10M -p 17001 -c trcvmh01.cisp.co.za

Done on a 1000/100 in CPT Northern

iperf3.exe -R -u -b 10M -p 17001 -c queen.cisp.co.za
Code:
iperf3.exe -R -u -b 10M -p 17001 -c queen.cisp.co.za
Connecting to host queen.cisp.co.za, port 17001
Reverse mode, remote host queen.cisp.co.za is sending

I was expecting to be blown away with huge amount of traffic stats from NAP considering that WACS is fixed and most entry level users got their upgrades but traffic still seems similar..... Slightly higher than same time yesterday but last week Thursday was the highest I think. It's been higher all round since lockdown but not MAJOR. I was hoping to see 2Tbps on NAP Traffic during lockdown. That would have been cool. :)
