Well lots of people say that and find it's a driver related bottleneck on the nic, so need to mention it.
Fair. :D It is onboard gigabit ethernet on a X299 motherboard.

Not seeing any driver updates. All settings default.

I dont see Datakeepers and ECN in the speedtest list (maybe http only?). I managed to get 734 on Clear Access as the best one so far.

Almost hitting 700 on speedtest.co.za.

Wondering if router is holding me back? It is a pretty old, but stable one (Zyxel VMG8924-B10A), except for the UI that craps out after a few days..., but still runs fine.

I can guarantee you, it is NOT my PC :D
But what Paul suggest is a good baseline, to see what your PC connected directly to CPE/ONT is capable of.
That way you can also rule out if it is router or something else.
Rule out cable faults etcetera.

Your NIC driver is out dated and using the default OS driver, the latest is at Intel.

Anyone know why the "broadband" light on a MetroFibre Calix device would be flashing orange? Doesn't seem to be affecting my connection, but it started a few days ago.

Thanks, I wish Windows would wake up and do proper driver updates without having to download a 1GB driver package :D (looks at Razor for frequent 300mb mouse driver updates, also Realtek and Intel Wifi)
