Youtube for me so far is screwed for me, as well as streaming from https://www.virginactive.coach/

I'm in Century City, with Century City Connect on the back-end. Not too sure how to check what's wrong, speed tests locally and to New York seem fine...

All YouTube videos? An MTR would be better to see if there is any obvious loss.

It seems like the KZN paths dropped again for like 2 minutes. It happened a few times the other night as well. Is there any way you guys could prevent this from happening?

I've heard reports about google peering being a problem but haven't experienced or had a problem myself. Is it everything on youtube?

Seems quad9 tried to come to CPT but decided against it...lol

I would suggest speaking to your netops perhaps. They definitely are in CPT. Im getting sub 1ms latency to them... As the guy who helped with the Cape Town install, I can vouch that they have been there for a long time.

There was a follow up video on the initial one:
Cisco wanted to fix their low ranking.
If you have time.
Also here is an extra tip:
Quad9 does tag block events in a way that would allow you to identify the blocks if you were looking at the DNS transactions in some way, either “on the wire” or if you had a forwarding cache at the edge of your network which had some programmability. Here is a wireshark/tshark recipe that will snoop the wire and print out only the DNS results that are blocked by Quad9’s resolver. show blocked host lookups - note, rolls /tmp files after 100k packets to avoid disk full errors:
while true; do tshark -np -i ens32 -q -c 100000 -E separator=, -E quote=d -T fields -e frame.time_epoch -e dns.qry.name -e ip.src -e ipv6.src -e ip.dst -e ipv6.dst -Y "dns.flags.rcode eq 3 && dns.flags.recavail eq 0" "src net 9.9.9.0/24 or src net 149.112.112.0/24 or src net 149.112.149.0/24 or src net 2620:fe::0/48" 2>/dev/null; done

Having issues with Call of Duty again. Took ages to connect and login.
Got disconnected from the game.

All other internet traffic seems good. Discord is connected and chat is working fine.

Hey guys,

so i will be moving back to a place where I had fibre, and while i was there I had Cool Ideas as my ISP, while it wasn't the absolute best (had random drops, etc) I have to give them some slack as it was after the whole DDOS attacks. So, since I'm moving back there I just wanted to know how CI is now? still under attack? going through this thread I see some people still have connection drops and some have issues playing COD (this is important to me :D)

Most connection drops are FNO or line related, COD at the moment is a bit tricky reliant on Mweb/Optinets network. We have de-peered them at JINX which seems to be most of underlying problem. But some other issues seem to persist with COD specifically, which we are working through.

That being said we are here, and here to assist with any issues :)
