Wonder if someone here could assist me.

I have has an awful time dealing with the cool ideas call centers.

As of this month i moved from vox 100/50 Uncapped fibre to Cool ideas 200/100 Uncapped

Now the move was seamless but my line speed is still at 100/50 ive dealt with various people in the call center and all have a different story. Ive been told id get feedback but have never got.

As of this morning i see my line is now 100/100 which is still incorrect

Please can some one assist.

Does your router support >100Mbps?

if you plug directly into the CPE what speeds do you get?

Log it for me?

I had the same issue with my slowpoke line.

logged it and was assisted by Buhle who asked me to take a screenshot of my speedtest while connected to the ONT.
He then logged it with the FNO and my issue was sorted shortly thereafter.

@SpaceCowboy-D can you please look into ticket COOL-20200904-505501.

I've had constant issues since I signed up with you. If it's not random intermittent dropouts it's no connection on the line. Currently looking at a red alarm light on the ONT. Again.
I've opened 7 different tickets since July.

Good Morning Guys...am moving at month end, to an Octotel fiber network complex, however the unit is not linked ...the tenant stayed on ADSL. Nikita (she is a Star) advised that I would need to apply for a new install at the new address. My problem is that since yesterday the CI sign-up page Fiber map says “this page cannot load Google maps correctly”....so I could not proceed. Checking availability on Octotel website gives me the thumbs up... Any idea "@PBCool" when your web page will be fixed.

I have since received communication from Nasreem that if I am not able to access Google Maps on the website to make the new application, to provide her with my new address so that accounts can verify if there is service there and that they in turn would send me the application to complete & also the offers available to choose from. I have received No reply...and I am concerned that this install may not get done in time..I believe some take up to 3 weeks...so will need to get the ball rolling now if I want the service available at month end. Please follow up @PBCool, @TheRoDent . Thanks.

Getting intermittent drops on my line since the start of this month... this coincides with being moved from a 100/25 package to a 100/100 in line with Octotel's consolidated offerings. Anybody else experiencing this?

Octotel technicians were onsite this week and they did a bit of work cleaning up my installation, clearing out dust and replacing cables, etc, and it seemed to hold for a day or two but since last night it's just been dropping constantly. Seeing this in the logs:

Sep 5 13:38:41 pppd[18178]: Connection terminated.
Sep 5 13:38:41 pppd[18178]: Modem hangup
Sep 5 13:39:27 pppd[18178]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Sep 5 13:40:42 pppd[18178]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Sep 5 13:41:57 pppd[18178]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Sep 5 13:43:12 pppd[18178]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Sep 5 13:44:27 pppd[18178]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets

No changes to hardware on my side so I'm assuming this is an Octotel issue.

I have a ticket logged, #COOL-20200902-503810, but thought I'd post here as well in case anybody else is experiencing similar.

Well keep an eye on it and let me know, that's typically a line/FNO issue.

Hi guys, I wonder if you can assist.

Recently Destiny 2 on steam won't login (i've done all the fixes suggested for nightingale error) I reinstalled windows and then battlenet (another gaming application) wouldnt let me login. Most my gaming applications weren't working anymore. I had to hotspot my phone to let me login and then some games worked online again for some reason. Google suggested that I contact my ISP (Cool ideas vumatel ariel) and refresh my line or get a new IP. So far steam icons wont load anymore (i.e my profile or their profile photos) but the games still work and my ping is still great, so ultimatley the last thing to try is to reset my internet. Attached is my steam friends list not displaying and my battlenet account not showing my profile photo or any other photo.

Hi which router are you using? Probably an MTU thing.

@PBCool out of interest, how is the MTN fibre network? Do you guys run into issues with them, well more or less than others as I guess they all have their issues.

Moving in Nov and by the looks of it MTN is the only provider in the neighborhood.

Moving in Nov and by the looks of it MTN is the only provider in the neighborhood.
We had some issues with our NNI and MTN in JHB but that has since been resolved. They are one of the more stable networks.

Awesome, thanks. I've had lots of issues with Netstream over the past 3 years. So hopeful that my experience with MTN will be better.

Hi which router are you using? Probably an MTU thing.
The tp link one that we got when we first got fibre, do you think this is the issue?
