It appears there's quite some breakage on the Fibreco route between JNB CPT. Likely the cause of cloudflare rerouting this morning as well, affecting their national links, and others' too.

Which DNS are you using? It seems like your DNS server has resolving issues.
Pri: 154.0.1.1 and Sec: 154.0.1.10

EDIT: Switched to 1.1.1.1 and working now.

I also had the same issues using 154.0.1.1 earlier, but seems fine now :)

Possibly because its slaving from google's DNS servers which would use the CPT -> JHB NLD?

Switched back to 154.0.1.1 and seems to be okay now.

From Octotel.

Good day everyone.
Octotel Engineers will be performing node maintenance in the following node:
Node: Rondebosch (which caters for clients from Rosebank-Wynberg)

Our engineers will be performing PON port maintenance in the node which will result in certain customers in the area losing connectivity for an average of 5 minutes. No more than 10 customers will lose connectivity at a time.

Details of the maintenance schedule below:

Date: Thursday, 26 November 2020
Start time: 03:00am - 6am
Duration: 3 hours

Our Engineers will be on site to ensure that down time is kept to an absolute minimum. We apologize for any consequent inconvenience that may be caused. Kindly bear with us.

Any idea what "PON port maintenance" actually means? Are they trying to rearrange customers across OLT's to reduce bottlenecks? Upgrading transceivers?
Probably moving PON trees from one interface to another, e.g. moving Gig customers to their own splices.

But who knows...

Is there anything I can do to rush Vodacom to provision their infrastructure and authorise for CISP to use their fibre and process my request to start services?

Does anyone else have trouble streaming at night? It's like suddenly the internet decides that it doesn't want to play videos anymore. I can be watching something and then bam, constant buffering, bad quality etc.

We did see about 10mins of Packetloss to London via WACs, has everything restored back to normal? Looks like between 21:25 and 21:35

Looks like one of the layer2s to London flapped which caused the loss.
