I seem to be getting some very slow responses this morning in Cape Town:

Tracing route to www.takealot.com [104.19.175.61]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1
2 2 ms 3 ms 2 ms 154.0.0.246
3 2 ms 1 ms 1 ms 154.0.4.162
4 3 ms 2 ms 3 ms 196.26.90.82
5 3 ms 3 ms 3 ms mi-za-cpt-p7-te0-7-0-0.ip.isnet.net [168.209.2.12]
6 34 ms 29 ms 29 ms mi-za-umh-p8-ten-0-0-1-3-147.ip.isnet.net [168.209.0.24]
7 29 ms 29 ms 29 ms pr1-umh-xe-0-0-0.ip.isnet.net [168.209.93.211]
8 33 ms * 33 ms cloudflare.dinx.net.za [196.223.30.109]
9 * 29 ms 29 ms 104.19.175.61

Couple of drops there but otherwise normal?

I see the same issue from CPT to CloudFlare DBN.

Switching from 1.1.1.1 to 8.8.8.8 fixes a lot. Must be a cloudflare issue so their DNS and any sites behind cloudflare are unhappy.

YMMV.

@PBCool

I see you also having issues from your 2nd hop, 155.93.254.1
The last few weeks I have been having these extremely random interruptions in my service, like the internet will become sluggish or stall, pages won't load for a few seconds It only lasts for a few moments.
But noticeable when I do certain tasks, like uploading via FTP files to our work server. The upload just stalls and I have to reconnect and resume the upload.
And then when I run a pingplotter there is always packet loss at that 2nd hop and most of the time going all the way to the destination.
Vuma had some installation techies here a few days ago, but they could not help. Just said levels look good.

I don't know how the network topography / layout works, but something or some hardware involved in the loop at that 154.93.254.1 in my case 154.93.237.1 is randomly "acting up".
I notice it while gaming i will see a big packet loss spike and i have generally been running pingplotter while playing games and often i will see a spike in Vumatels network, it is not very often or long but it is noticeable

And just as I am uploading a file via FTP it happened.

This trace shows loss on Googles network, if loss "clears" along a path before the destination it means that up until that hop there is no network loss. Can you try run one that shows loss to your work server? And are you are on the 1Gbps service right?

Correct, on 1000/100 vuma trenched, CPT, Brackenfell. I think I was the first, Roelf still set me up manually the day the package option became available from Vuma side.

Not sure if this is related but i'm having issues connecting to certain Google services from yesterday evening.
Gmail and 8.8.8.8 works fine, but play store cannot download any updates and youtube takes ages to load a video.

Anyone else experiencing this? Or is this just me.
Vuma trenched Durban.

My SD-WAN changed the DNS to 9.9.9.9 while 1.1.1.1 was unavailable/flapping and internet was working 100% except for 1.1.1.1 Now it has changed back to 1.1.1.1 as it is stable again and Cloudflare is my primary DNS

I had some problems last night and this morning. After changing DNS servers from 1.1.1.2 and 1.0.0.2 to CISP dns and OpenDNS, all seems fine.

Vuma trenched Durban.

There was an outage in Kloof/Hillcrest, but it has been resolved according to the comms from Vumatel.
