@PBCool @TheRoDent Also curious about what other game services have been moved over to WACS? Apex Legends is flying at 150 ping (but sadly it has increased 10 ms since it was first turned on), but League of Legends is still sitting at close to 200 ping.

FYI:

Received this feedback from CISP - I requested them to find out more info with regards to the intermittent downtime on SADV:

Do many of you also experience downtine due to loadshedding on the FNO side?

Kind regards,
chris
On SADV my fibre has stayed up during loadshedding.
Where I have had downtime recently are those random 30min disconnects at different times during the day. Think its happened about 3 times this year, nothing like this has happened in past 3 years.

Vumatel trenched if you run a UPS you can stay up during loadshedding perfectly fine. We don't have a UPS but when power comes on i get connected instantly, i'm up within 5-10 seconds of router booting. I sometimes will have to do a random router reset because the internet will be slow after it comes back but after the reset everything is back to normal.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like the FNO equipment/exchanges etc are quite stable from a loadshedding perspective. (I do recall a article published on MyBB from Vuma explaining that the effects of loadshedding on the network - but the article did mention improving things with generators and UPS for their equipment)
I have a feeling that CISP/SADV are using loadshedding as an excuse. In one particular case - downtime has been longer than 3 hours and a SADV technician was sent onto site. So blaming loadshedding doesn't seem consistent.

Earlier last week - I also had temporary disconnects, but the PPPOE connection re-connected immediately. Not serious, just annoying if you're on skype calls and have VPN sessions that disconnect because of it.

Anyway all seems to be stable now - just annoyed that things are stable for a while, then get these brief periods where you have numerous disruptions ... yes I know there are different parties responsible, but just get nailed as the consumer as outage all adds up ... DDOS/Fibrebreaks/Routing issues/WACS cable/FNO issues/loadshedding etc.

Anyway, have a great day.

My Apex is 142/143 so maybe your 150 is because of some congestion locally?

Seeing quite a bit of this in a neighborhood group for my area people been blaming CISP for their dropped connections etc meanwhile there are tons of other posts from people on other ISP's complaining about the same issue and whats common between all the people... Same FNO... Frogfoot or Octotel... But they blame the ISP

Can confirm. Ocotel is not a great company.

When WACS first went live this weekend it was 140, so not sure if this is the case, but it might be.
Would still take 150ms on CISP over our premium 50/50 business account with RSAWEB, they still have not even moved back to WACS and international today was beyond a joke and we pay well over R5k for it xD

Just encountered something very strange... Tried to update my Minecraft via the Minecraft launcher and was unable to on Cool Ideas... Activated Warp+ and it downloaded straight away but kept failing on my Cool Ideas connection... I am able to connect once updated but for some odd reason it kept failing on Cool Ideas o.o

Even from many months ago I noticed Minecraft launcher updates take ages to even download 60MB. Luckily the updates usually are small so I don't really mind waiting like 5 minutes.

This is more than likely a local peer still using Eassy or the like, do you have a trace at all or IP to check?

Morning, @PBCool

First of all thank you for the amazing support over the past few weeks.

Can you please have a look at my tracert to the LoL EUW server below. Whereas I used to have 154ms in-game before the WACS break, I now have 184ms (am I correct in assuming that the WACS connection is now fully functional?).

Many thanks

Do you have a trace at all for us? Are you testing with a cabled device?

SADV isn't too affected by Loadshedding, from what we can see at the moment is more loss related hence the sessions dropping.

Also, yes, I am testing using my wired connection. As per my other post, Apex Legends is fine. Back to what it used to be at a normal 150 ping. League is the only game I play that hasn't reverted back to lower ping.
