What's the new price of the 200/200 Vumatel line? I see Afrihost has it for R1147. Doesn't make sense as it's only R48 more than the new price of my 100/100 line

EDIT: It's R1349

@PBCool I'm down again today with no broadband or service light on my ONT. checked announcements and there’s nothing there.

its getting really tough with all these disconnects now as I am working from home and being disconnected constantly is making it even harder to do my work. Could you maybe see if there’s an issue with my line?

ticket number: COOL-20210622-709330

@PBCool - do you know when LinkAfrica areas in Durban are going to be moved over to MetroFibre? I heard MFN bought out LinkAfrica FTTH areas? As soon as that happens we definitely moving to CISP due to better quality and decent pricing.

They are still formulating something commercially, will probably be 2.5, 5 and 10Gbps options.

The trial has been on the backburner a bit, managed 4Gbps both ways on a regular speedtest with 1500MTU.
Whats the processor and ethernet controller you using? Memory and bus speed also plays a role on both sides.
With this Intel Core i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3634 MHz, 8192 KB cache, 4 cores, AES7668 MB - it pushed close to 7GB after disabling hyperthreading.
Hyperthreading ups the cores to 8 but drops speed to below 4GB.

What do you even do with 10Gbps at home? I think there are two commercial routers that I know of that can handle those speeds (Asus AXE11000/GT-AX11000). On the plus side, you can resell to a small complex and you never have to worry about bandwidth saturation.
I have 10GB/s connected servers running at home for personal use. And I am using a Mikrotik CRS328-24P-4S+ which will be able to do those speeds. Not saying I need 10GB/s but I could definitely connect to it. I regularly max out my current 200/200 vumatel line.

I would put my mikrotik in the same category ... its definitely not enterprise grade
I would think that some of the more expensive Cloud Core Mikrotik models will pass for enterprise-grade but not carrier-grade.

Guys , what speed should i be getting on a 200/200 line with the laptop connected directly to the ONT ?
I would assume that around 190+Mbps both ways is a good link even 180 sounds good to me now.... Im getting between 130 and 150 down and 190+ upload.

Been having hells with CI and MFN the last few weeks ..... :(
