Good day, I want to enquire if the fiber service are completely Uncapped, Unshaped and Unthrottled with NO FUP (every internet protocol - Netflix, Youtube streaming, Xbox downloads and updates, downloading, uploading etc is unshaped?). I am with Afrihost PureDSL at the moment and have a true uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled connection with a true no FUP (most data I used in one month was 4.5TB) and the line was never ever shaped or slowed down. Reason why I am asking is, I see there is a special on that offers free installation and connection on CISP fiber. Afrihost asks me R1497 for installation. I am temped to move to them for fiber, but the installation costs are keeping me from doing so. Can anyone please confirm? Thank you.

We've never enforced any restrictions, so that doesn't make much sense?

Only moved back to the original 200 / 200 option again because of the speed, while maybe not restricted it did say it was 1000 local, 100 international, was getting the 100 international consistently so no complaints, but missed the high speed internationally so changed again, the prices were even the same and it was not like I needed the upload speed.

Let me make a change request, and test again, Thanks.

Used to have Vumatel 200 / 200, then moved to 1000 / 100 but consistently would only get 100 download speeds international, so moved back to 200 / 200, where I would then get 200 meg download speeds consistently.

See comments lately that the 1000 is not restricted internationally so not sure when that changed, so looking at changing again to 1000 / 200, but wanted to check other experiences on international, as long as getting at least 200 download speeds then it is still worth while, as don't want to keep changing.
I am currently on the 1000/200 line, and can tell you there's definitely something not lekke with this line, Battling to watch 4k content on just ONE of my 4k tv's (I have 3) and if my son is gaming online, and downloading, is like my line is dead.

LG and Amazon Prime?

The network stack is very broken on my LG, can't handle multiple connections well (you can test with fast.com and playing with concurrent connections). Every time there is a scene change, that Xray thing spawns more connections and just kills the speed. No issues with other services.

On both my Samsung and LG tv's, Netflix seems ok, Amazon Prime is bad, but YT is completely unwatchable. Have to downscale to 720P sometimes. Still unbelievable that a 1 GIGABIT line can't handle this, will be upgrading my hardware month end, maybe there'll be a difference.

There's no reason you wouldn't be able to stream at 4k, are you using a VPN or something like a DNS proxy?

Nope, none of these, just the standard router you sent. Wifi coverage is very good throughout my house, but as I said, I'll invest in a proper setup month end, (Router and Mesh), then take it from there, sick and tired now.

Yeah more than likely wireless related if that's what you're using, rather cable up fixed devices if you can. Easy to test with a laptop and a cable and if you full res you know it's something like throughput or device related.

I have no issue on YT unless it was a very recent 4K video that is probably not cached locally, but that is very few and far between. Amazon is the big problem showing beautiful 4K till the scene changes (with different actors) and then drops to 360p...

I really hope this gets resolved because on 14/05/2021(ticket created 12/04/2021) Ben also promised me that a solution was in the works.
