Err, yeah that's terrible for Gigabit. Could you do some iperf tests as per the sticky in this forum?

iperf3: error - control socket has closed unexpectedly

These were done wired to the router, I have also done a direct connection from the ONT and the speed is exactly the same. Apparently, a ticket has been opened with evotel, but I don't see anything on their portal under my profile. But the line has been like this since the upgrade yesterday morning.

Well, it seems to be doing 10mbps up and down fine without any packetloss, which is what those iperf tests are configured to do. You don't have packet loss.

But as PBCool informed me there is an apparent provisioning issue on Evotel's side which is limiting your speeds after the upgrade.

what router is being currently provided with a new connection? I already have a tp-link C20 AC750, is it worth spending the additional R200 for delivery and getting a new router?

Depends on the package, but still the C20 I believe for anything 100Mbps and below, C5/6 anything beyond that.

I am going with 50/50. So if its still the C20 then it doesnt make sense ordering another one. But can I order one in future if the one I have breaks or I can only order now with the new connection.

Absolutely, up to you. You can also opt to pay for a C5/6

I noticed Discord from KZN to JHB uses Vox transit it seems. Must be something Discord have chosen to do themselves, perhaps for uptime or something.

Is it expected behaviour that some CPT <> JHB traffic is using IS transit?

The test shows no difference, it seems to be dependant on the BRAS your service uses. At least with L2TP we see a bit more and try get some form of respective feedback from OS
Ah ok, so I assume there's no need for me to test then.
