Anyone else having issues this morning? I'm getting 3Mbps max download when testing from CPT to JHB (200/200 line). If I test to CPT, it's fine. Tried London and New York, and it was okay-ish (around 100). But specifically to JHB, all nodes are barely working, and I'm getting really sluggish responses from JHB based servers.

Edit: Seems like there may be a routing issue in CPT. This is to an Azure-based service, and there's heavy packet loss at "microsoft.ixp.capetown":

Have turned up some additional capacity and things look much better. Seems a few failures on multiple carriers.

Quick question. I have a neighbour down the road (2 houses down) who is also with CISP. He unfortunately has the dreaded Octotel disconnect issue numerous times during the day. He's on the 35/25 package I'm on the 50/50.

So since Octotel uses GPON I'm assuming we both run along the same fibre pair from the junction splitter at the end of the road to the PoP.

How does he have the issue of constant disconnects but I do not. (Touching wood posting this)

Also if anyone else who might know as well, please enlighten me please. Just trying to understand.

Thanks.

Thsnks.
It's possible that you are on a different port on the OLT and a different splitter.

He's possibly just on an iffy PON tree.

Okay cool, so my understanding with the Octotel 'maintenance' is that they are slowly replacing equipment etc to attempt to solve the issues

Same... seems to be a recurrence of that Openserve issue of last week. Even pings to CISP core are 150+

Actually running like a train - 100/50 and I'm on wifi next to the pool...

Ping: 8ms
Download: 113.93Mbps
Upload: 60.63Mbps
