Dropped connections as in packet loss or is your PPP dropping?
I'm dom with these things. Dropping as in no Internet at al for couple of minutes a day. But lights on router stay on as normal. Its been going on for a while now. I should probably just log a ticket.

Best to have pingplotter running all the time so you can take a pic when it drops.

Area and FNO? Yes log it, that usually means packetloss.

Cool thanks this reply 4 hours later was super helpful Afrihost

This isn't an official point of contact for support issues - your first best bet is always to log a ticket and if it's super urgent, to give them a call.

PBCool and TheRodent don't monitor this thread 24/7.

So at 00:03 on Tuesday my connection completely died, all the lights on the ONT were fine but there was no PPP connection. I assume this was Openserve doing some kind of ME maintenance since they seem to usually do it on a midnight every few months in my area.

By 01:15 it was still dead so I decided to go to bed and when I woke up in the morning all the latency issues I've been having were gone. This is the first time in 6 months where I can confidently say that all my traceroutes are clean and latency is back to what it used to be.

As of now it's still going fine, fingers crossed it stays this way.

Just had my service activated by Cool Ideas. Unfortunately, will probably only be able to access it next week as my router is likely to only be delivered then. Waiting for the service to be active before even being able to dispatch the router has put a damper on it all, given the amount of time I will have to wait.

On top of that, it seems like my payment for the service has been deducted from my account, however the portal listed it as declined. Given it's a public holiday tomorrow and then the weekend, I doubt this, but any help can be provided in this regard?

Which network, BTW. You can be given PPPoE details on our portal, and alternatively, just plug in if it's Vumatel trenched ?

Like the rodent mentioned. Connect your PC directly to the ont, grab your pppoe details and can still dial a session from your pc.

I have requested your account details via the PM you sent me. I can then investigate what went wrong with the payment side of things. Glad you're up and running in the meantime.
