Hi @PBCool or @TheRoDent

Was hoping one of you guys could assist me with this https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/thr...lls-plain-strandfontein.1035631/post-28111824 (I sent a pm to @PBCool the other day, but not sure if it was received?)

TL;DR - I'm trying to get port forwarding to work on a EG8141A5 router from VumaReach. Based on feedback I received from some helpful forum members it appears that I may be behind a CGN. Is it possible for a public IP to be assigned to me?

Would appreciate any assistance, thanks
Hi just request a public IP from support, they will then allocate you one. I am not sure about configuring the CPE for port forwards however.

Thanks. I mentioned this in the thread and in my DM to you but I did actually contact support (who also contacted Vuma) before coming to the forums with this originally. Would have been nice if they were able to mention the IP thing then, since it sounds like this is a known thing? Instead they took two days to reply just for the response to boil down to "you're doing it wrong".

I followed up again yesterday to ask about the public IP specifically, so hopefully it can be allocated like you mentioned.

I won't lie though I'm annoyed because it seems this is dragging out longer than it had to due to poor response times both via support and frankly here on the forums too. You were @'d in the thread, and PM'd, and you've been active elsewhere on the forums since then. So not really happy that I had to reach out here again to finally get some kind of reply, feels like I was being ignored.

I hope I don't come across as petty here but overall the experience hasn't felt good as a new customer

So restart router? Packet loss is more noticeable in game. and ping spikes on local servers. 6 - 12% loss and ping goes from 40 - 100ms
Sort out your router first. Doesn't matter what happens in-game if you do MTR test and have more than 3 ms to your router. if you have no spikes to your own router then you can start looking for the next problem if it's not resolved yet.

Could be faulty cable/WiFi depends how your setup looks.

Yeah, assuming you're using a lan cable, turning it off and on again usually sorts things out, if using wifi, don't use wifi.

Surprisingly I am getting a lower ping to the AWS servers in Frankfurt using a vpn.
I would ask you if it was possible to look into that routing on CI but I don't know what the IP is.

160 is on par this is via CISP you can get as low as 155 at times

To be more specific, it's for the MMO NewWorld, which the server is in Frankfurt.
With no vpn I get 200ms, with a vpn I get 180ms.

While connected to the server in-game, go to Resource Monitor in Windows, go to the Network tab, then tick the New World process/executable in the list, and it'll show you all of the open connections. You should be able to figure out which IP is the actual game server from there.

PUBG is also hosted in Frankfurt and I get a 155 to 170 ping.. I guess you have tried the CISP vpn as test?
