Any update on the KZN NLD? You guys said you were hoping for it to be done by the end of last week.
I believe the one is done but needs to be brought into production, then they are patching the other one this evening and tomorrow.

Well there could be multiple reasons for it happening at the PoP. Glitch during cutover from Eskom to Battery. Batteries faulty of getting old not holding charge. Generator not kicked in fast enough or not at all............... , or like you say, no battery backup. Also something along the path at multiple points between you and CISP their could have been a glitch, failure due to loadshedding. It becomes noticeable when there are loadshedding that continues for days, as the batteries do not get time to fully recharge, or generators run out of fuel and cannot get replenish fast enough. The higher the loadshedding Stage the more failover and failures also starts cascading, like when we had that Stage 4 & 6 last year or year before.... caused a quite a bit of chaos.
They seemed to have fixed it :) What a strange place we live in. 99 down, 97 up…but no power.

@TheRoDent Any updates on using DHCP on Octotel? They were pretty good for a while but Sunday had 2 disconnects and today 2 again.

@PBCool I think I know why my latency increased previously. I normally get 154.0.0.245 or 154.0.0.246 as a gateway, but when I got 154.0.0.238, it was when the latency was poor. Was on 246 the last 4 days, and latency was fine again. Currently on 242, so need to see what this one does.

You will still get bursts of loss on DHCP, and the access routers wouldn't typically affect latency. But if you can get an example that would help.

The IP change is more the issue for me.

I will try get some latency logged. Loadshedding has kind of messed it up.

Anyone else in Tableview down with Frogfoot?

Getting insane amount of packet loss. 57% to first hop. PPPOE still active, but totally no proper flow of packets

Code:
Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8:
    Packets: Sent = 150, Received = 82, Lost = 68 (45% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 18ms, Maximum = 173ms, Average = 101ms
Control-C

Seems to have returned to normal....

Sigh, another day, another disconnect from Octotel... managed to previous IP back doing a double reconnect, but now 1.1.1.1 is routing to JHB instead of CPT :|

That wasn't only you. Seemed to be a blip (which is now back to normal).

Not sure why I am getting these emails when I have never stated any such thing.
Just some more information on this, Metrofibre had received a request to cancel the line, however this did not come from me.
I live in a sort of simplex, so this is worrying if others can issue termination requests on my line with nothing but my address details.
