Permanently or temporarily? Gaming in SA basically becomes dead for me then. Nothing below 200ms is ridiculous.
Normally a temp thing they pull the route when its having issues and reintroduce it after a couple hours but sometimes its out for a few days.

Check out Exitlag (free 3 day trial to test it out) where you will be able to find maybe a few extra routes to help you out. I think its $5 per month, when i was using it they had a permanent route to Bahrain which was even better than Amazon route and it would be up 24/7 i would get 110ms to Bahrain where Amazon route gives me 140 from CT.

Noticing something that happens occasionally on CI.

On Valorant and Apex, during certain intervals, ping to Bahrain doubles. From 160ms, it sits on 300ms, making them unplayable through that server.

Is this to do with routing or something else?
This would apply to all ISPs then, as mentioned its AWS' transit.

Apologies for the late reply.

Just had some time for more testing and I plugged the ONT directly into my PC.

This is the speed test result I got. From that it doesn't seem to be an "issue" with my Asus router. The second screenshot is via my Asus Router.

And do you have multiple devices to test with? The next step is iperf tests.

Can you rather not use the router and use your PC, their CPUs are typically designed to do networking stuff and not general computing.

I can't see any spikes on your EU route? US that latency is very normal. Do you have any more examples for me?

I expect it to be AWS' transit and them switching to their East Coast cable route.
I can't seem to find the direct IP for the EU Valorant server, but the game was connecting to the one below as well. Was connected to London EU game server.
I have a video of it spiking in-game, see below. Been aware of it for about a week.

If you choose another region like Paris is it the same? When i played Valorant i had this issue from time to time and it was their servers that had the issues, they pushed a patch and then things went back to normal

Looks like he was doing it from windows while using the Asus router. Assuming he has more than one router.

Unless I am doff and the Asus router has windows and command prompt installed.

Consumer routers are bad,many flatline their baby cpus at far below gigabit. Not an issue for most users

Pc into ONT -> best test

@PBCool it looks like youtube is working correctly now. Didn't get the 10sec play then buffer for 1min. It was a lot less frustrating. Will keep you updated but it looks like its solved :)

Cool I did recommend a workaround which clamps your MTU, so will see if that is the resolution or if Vumatel fixed it.

I believe the default on PPP servers is 10 seconds. FF seems to have ongoing issues with their network in general, but this has been limited to Johannesburg supposedly. Have you logged this as yet?
