What does a trace route look like? I have seen packet loss increase latency

Ah okay well at least there is no packet loss, i have seen multiple instances with friends where their ping increased slightly like that and it was due to an outage somewhere so traffic was being routed via a different POP. I had a friend who's latency went from 5ms to 20-30 for a while due to Metrofibre having a massive outage on the route she normally took to JHB so she got rerouted, could be something similar here.

Is your download and upload speeds the same as normal?

So this is a thing that still happens to me daily, and randomly.
The net dies from the international side, as you can see by the packet loss.

Tends to last a couple of seconds up to a minute some times.

Can you PM me your IP address ? It could be DDOS protection related. There doesn't seem to be any specific issues on the CPT->London path.

Not seeing a big change in downloads speeds, although it does take longer to reach my line speed with downloads these days.

Might be the route I am taking, but would need feedback from Cool Ideas regarding this.

The latency is originating on the Frogfoot network, you can see at hop 2 which is between them and us.

What area are you in?

Pretoria, Garsfontein to be exact. Have attached full results to the ticket logged with you guys so hopefully that can be taken up with Frogfoot to hopefully sort the issue

The family said the internet is back, but observing a hell of a lot of packet loss still. Even Winbox connection is super laggy

PS: Don't have a ticket number, did try to ring it in earlier, but support wanted to run through troubleshooting, which was a bit impossible as I'm in CPT and this is a connection in George.

I can't seem to find the direct IP for the EU Valorant server, but the game was connecting to the one below as well. Was connected to London EU game server.
I have a video of it spiking in-game, see below. Been aware of it for about a week.

We would need to trace the IP but it's possible this is hosted on AWS which they control the transit for. Will do some digging. You can also test via our UK vpn and see if it makes any difference.

RIOT peer in London and then take it via their network (which doesn't show on a trace route)

I was playing Apex last night and noticed on a few servers as well that my ping was jumping by 20 odd ms...

My friend on WebAfrica was fine though

So caught this IP while in game ping was jumping 20ms, trace looks fine when i ran it here

@PBCool - My international downloads, in particular One Drive, has been running very slow. My upload speeds is running less than 300kb/s on a 100Mb link(50Mb upload speeds). On our One Drive apps on the mobiles, it will start uploading and then pause after a while only when on fibre. If we switch it off and use mobile network, its fine. Please advise

Hi, area and FNO? What results do you have on a local speedtest? Also which router are you using?

With One drive we don't have much control over the traffic as MS peers locally.

OneDrive is running fine, synced a 250GB folder earlier
