Ok.

Made the changes suggested by jannier in the IP4 settings, flushed DNS cache on router and PC

nslookup now.dstv.com

Great. Now you getting CISPs Akamai cluster. DSTv should now work.

Those look fine now. If you use DNS from a 3rd party that resolves outside of ZA, DSTV blocks the streams due to geolocation locks.

Also if you use 3rd party DNS you will lose access to on-network akamai caches/CDN in some cases.

Well goddam...

@jannier and @MDE Thank you massively gents

All working now.

No idea how it went pear shaped 'cos this has been running like this for months without changes from my side.

@TheRoDent I"ll close the call

Edit: removing all NordVPN from router now - not really required in there anymore anyway.

Ok, so now that will help for your PC, but all other devices connected to the router directly or WiFi will still route incorrectly via the wrong DNS servers.

So you need to check the configuration on the Mikrotik so that it uses CISP DNS and not those NordVPN servers.

EDIT: Remove everything nordvpn from the mikrotik.

Ok, so I've did a relocation request to my new address a few weeks ago now I'm at my new place, how do I get it connected here? I'm confused, I thought it would just be a straight switch over but there one ticket says I need to place a new order which will cost me another R1000. That's not right is it?

Openserve is actually coming in here on Tuesday to pull in fibre as well (currently only Octotel) so at least I will have two options then.

Done and checked - everything working.

Thanks again for all the help.

Let the connect team know that you are at the new house. They need to make sure the previous owners ISP released the line before they can do anything. Then it is a "new install", thus the fee, although if you sign up for 12 months you don't pay it.

@PBCool @TheRoDent Just noticed this on a smokeping graph to 154.0.1.1

Strange latency to CISP DNS but my other smokeping graphs are a solid line (eg 1.1.1.1 is clean)

Can you post traces to both hosts for me?

Code:
Tracing route to 154.0.1.1 over a maximum of 30 hops

  1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 10.0.0.1
  2 12 ms 11 ms 11 ms 154.0.0.238
  3 11 ms 11 ms 11 ms 100.98.0.2
  4 12 ms 11 ms 11 ms 100.98.0.15
  5 12 ms 11 ms 11 ms 154.0.1.1

Trace complete.

  6 11 ms 11 ms 11 ms 1.1.1.1

Trace complete.

Here is an example of my 1.1.1.1 graph, which is pretty much a solid flat line:

Edit: I see @MDE found the same issue as well (posted earlier in thread)
