Here is an example of my 1.1.1.1 graph, which is pretty much a solid flat line:

Edit: I see @MDE found the same issue as well (posted earlier in thread)
Thanks, can you run an MTR over some time as that trace shows no variance in latency but your smokeping does.

Interesting, on an MTR they seem the same (clean), just on smokeping it looks very different, might be because on smokeping you get to see it over a longer period of time.

Anyways its not a big deal, might just be an ICMP rate limiting thing, the actual DNS performance is fine, and there is no packet loss :)

I have been noticing things loading a lot slower on CISP DNS the past 2-3 days

Im with Metrofibre/Cool Ideas. I don't know if it's just me but my speeds haven't been upgraded like they said it would be from the 1st May 2022. I'm still on 50/50 instead of 100/100. I've rebooted the router and restarted the ont many times.

It normally is not instantaneous but is done in batches by the FNO.
So normally takes between 1 - 3 days, and with the 1st and 2nd being public holidays I guess it is slower.

Let the connect team know that you are at the new house. They need to make sure the previous owners ISP released the line before they can do anything. Then it is a "new install", thus the fee, although if you sign up for 12 months you don't pay it.
Thanks, it's a bit confusing. I thought by doing a relocation request would do all everything I needed but it's no different to just cancelling the line then re-ordering the service at the new location even though both sides are Octotel.

I've put the new order through, now I hope they don't double charge me this month.

Yes the process is like that with every FNO, there used to be a move option on Vumatel trenched but hasn't been an option for a while.

So basically cancel and reapply which the migrate wizard does.

Hi @PBCool,

Is there a way to get vodacom to do some effort to look for the fibre break. It feels like nothing is happening since the ONT was installed. Our previous fibre service ended today, so it is a bit frustrating. Please have a look on our ticket: COOL-20220317-896388

Thanks!

How long does it normally take to activate the line? I put my order in last night, the line and everything is installed already it just needs to be activated.

Hi @PBCool
Looks like my upgrade was done from 200/200 to 500/500 but still not get near the 500mbps mark… best was below… this is directly connected to the ont … had the same issue when I went from 100/100 to 200/200, and it was fixed after a few support calls. Any help from you would be highly appreciated.. Dayalan.naidoo2@coolideas.co thanx

Are you testing over WiFi? looks like it. Can you take a cable from Laptop/Desktop to the CPE/ONT?

Please escalate, Immediately - COOL-20220503-925805

I cannot deal with these disconnections anymore, at first it was a few seconds but now its 5minutes+ offline at a time.

You're also welcome to DM me since this problem has been ongoing since I joined Cool Ideas without proper resolution.

I used to have the same issue where my Line speed on my home pc was slower that the indicated fiber speed. I'm in 500/500 and only get around 400/450
I eventually found out my bandwidth monitor had a roll to play probably adding some throttling as it monitored my traffic.

On my laptop however that had no network tools installed I get 620/828 , Im not on cool ideas but Vox/Frogfoot. but it seems network monitoring can cause an issue.

OK that is bad. Random question do you stay in Complex or block of flats. Noticed in some area's that when in Complex it is shared line and when someone is draining the line screws it up for someone else
