LOL I've been paying for a 250/500meg line and Cool Ideas has been throttling me to 100/100 the entire time.

Still throttled after speaking to support.

Blatant theft.

ok then makes no sense. But this is an FNO problem more than a Cool Idea problem. But unfortunately have to use Cool Idea's to get to the FNO(Fibre provider). Cool Ideas does chase up. I have been very happy with them since got fibre roughly 3 years ago. Just it is sometimes a pain having a middle man do the work but it is the FNO's choice that need to use ISP as middle man.

A quick test would maybe ask a neighbour or someone area that also has a 200MB or 500MB line and do a test the same way then will see right away if it is FNO or ISP related.

What Router are you using?

Is it a 10/100 or a 10/100/1000 Router? Have you tried plugging directly into the CPE/ONT? via Network cable with a Laptop that has gigabit ethernet or desktop with gigabit ethernet?

Sorry for slow response been offline/on phone with support.

Netgear Nighthawk R6120 - not the issue.

Yes did dial up connections plugged into ONT while on phone with support and its being shown as 100/100 on my side (support confirmed that my connection was showing as correct initially, then after 10 min he said it was showing as 100/100).

I'm 99% sure my pc has gigabit ethernet, it's pretty new, bought last year, has a Realtek Gaming 2.5gbe network card, and at one point within the last 30 days the link speed was 866/866 (and I recall at one point getting excited about download speeds a few months ago after first changing packages).

Tested on alternative laptop which showed speeds of 100/100 and 72/72.

Support will get back to me tomorrow, it's too complicated, Kudos to Buhle for flat out admitting he has no idea what the problem could be, and explaining that he will try X Y and Z first, and after a series of multiple phone calls, looks like a technician will need to be called in, which I gather was trying to be avoided as that has to be paid for.

I really did appreciate his honesty.

MTN Was suppose to release line today on Vuma so that you guys can activate. If look at ticket history was set for today. Does MTN usually play slow like this,

MTN is blocking incoming VPN for some reason so need to get my line active with Cool Ideas again as it works flawless with MTN so Kind of desperate to get my line back

Now looks like line was released. How long before Cool Ideas activates the line?

Getting a single DNS of 41.193.178.62 and no 2nd DNS which is unusual and a gateway of 172.23.32.1 which can not do a reverse lookup on and even my own IP is an unusal IP so do not know if that just means that it is an empty line. If some clarification can be given please

That is a vuma trenched line that is not assigned to an ISP. You can browser shop.vumatel.co.za basically.

Can now get new ISP to activate.Give them a call as soon as callcenter open and then they should be able to activate it soon.

Tried getting onto Vuma site with both Shop.vumatel.co.za and normal vumatel.co.za and no such luck.

I have replied to the support thread with Cool Ideas but will only be able to check once back home this afternoon. Hopefully Cool Ideas activates my line today.

got 8 Machines that needs to pull Windows Image from my server in Cape Town offices(PXE)

Can someone that is Vumatel please test going onto shop.vumatel.co.za and then on right hand side click the 3 lines to bring menu up and goto "Network Details" to see it actually works as I get the following

503 Service Unavailable​

No server is available to handle this request.

Hi,

No it does not work, I see the same error. Vuma has been making a lot of changes lately, things don't always work the way we are used to in the past.
Best is just to get InTouch with CISP connect team.

Looks like google traffic is being routed internationally.

Edit: Back to normal again.

Looks like CISPs peering in JHB was re-established at 18:57, which probably caused google traffic to route via international.
