Looks like the issue is on all the Valorant servers and the VPN

I was getting similar packet loss in Warzone last night as well, but looks like it cleared up when you revoked the advertising earlier. I'm assuming that's on AWS as well? I'll test tonight again though

It's what makes this tricky to diagnose, it maybe one of the peering fabrics. So will revoke some advertising and do some more tests.

@CrypticZA are you in Cape Town?

PS could it be related to our specific CISP accounts by any chance? I remember in the old ADSL days you could do an account refresh and it used to solve most issues. But yeah I'm just spit balling here

I installed Valorant again to see what's up, and was also getting packet loss to London and Bahrain, from KZN. But damn the game feels awful, at least Apex's hitreg works 50% of the time but with this game it's like 20%.

Just played a Valorant game played a deathmatch on Bahrain and indeed packet loss was observed lost 62 packets in the game (it was short) and had like 3 or 4 bad bursts of packet loss

Do you guys get any loss when running an iperf to queen.cisp.co.za ?
This is the same server that the UK VPN is hosted on, so if an iperf looks clean to that, and you have loss while on the VPN then the issue must be on the valorant side.

It is clean for me when I test:
iperf3 -R -u -b 10M -O2 -t 30 -p 17001 -c queen.cisp.co.za

@TheRoDent is there an issue with the on-net iperf server? It seems like the iperfs dont start when running this: iperf3 -R -u -b 10M -O2 -t 30 -p 17001 -c tele-lon-iperf.cisp.co.za

There is some loss on iperf. Doesn't show up in an MTR though, so tough to diagnose.

Code:
[ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth Jitter Lost/Total Datagrams
[  4]   0.00-30.00  sec  35.9 MBytes  10.0 Mbits/sec  0.051 ms  21/4600 (0.46%)
[  4] Sent 4600 datagrams
[SUM]  0.0-30.0 sec  21 datagrams received out-of-order

EDIT:

Seems inconsistent. Another run is clean:

Code:
[ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth Jitter Lost/Total Datagrams
[  4]   0.00-30.00  sec  35.9 MBytes  10.0 Mbits/sec  0.209 ms  0/4600 (0%)
[  4] Sent 4600 datagrams

Any one else having issues on OpenServe this morning. Woke up to no internet, PPPOE sessions activate and then terminate immediately. PON light green on the CPE and PPPOE scan shows rndf-ip-bng-1 as being off my WAN port.

If nothing on announcements please log as normal for me.

Monitoring that valorant IP from Joburg over the course of the weekend shows practically zero packet loss.

Jacques is going to contact you to get a static IP deployed, and open up ping on your router so we can monitor your line for a bit.
@TheRoDent Hi there, would it be possible to get a static IP as well. I have the same issue @gool has. Thanks

I tested this from my side as well and was getting bad spikes as well and my line is clean all my other games are running fine (don't have any other AWS server games that i know of).

I have a static IP as well (Vuma trenched CT so practically static)

We haven't had any failures, it's either a line issue or a Vumatel outage. I will see where the team is up to with the ticket.
Hi @PBCool, with regards to ticket #COOL-20220510-930871;
this was the last response from your technical team;
As discussed, when we spoke to Vumatel yesterday they confirmed they was an outage affecting you.
The issue was later resolved in the afternoon yesterday.

And the connection has been stable since(since last week Thursday)

However a few minutes ago, PPPOE connection disconnected and reconnected twice.
Please check, or log a ticket with Vumatel to investigate. The ticket is a week old and still not resolved.
thanks.

Great thanks!:thumbsup: Gumani got the static IP going (he's been great so far, lots of contact and follow ups). Was some umming and ahing about the ICMP stuff but all seems alright? You're welcome to Anydesk in as well if need be.
