I wouldn't want to be a ISP tomorrow. This isn't up tomorrow there is going to be anarchy and all FF will do is to point people to their ISPs. Sucks to be the end user.

Consumers are screaming, but those who have no option but to subscribe to FTTB will start to bite.

I am now seriously considering to move to Openserve. Might have a talk with Cool Ideas tomorrow.

Take up Openserve on the free installation and fibre for a month, use that as your calendar month to cancel your Frogfoot service and after the free month with Openserve you just move back to Cool Ideas.

So FNO outage and random disconnects are different issues. Router replacement is part of the troubleshooting for random disconnects. The FNO outage part can be coupled as the same sort of issue.
incorrect again - your support staff now confirmed in the ticket. they could see the same disconnects happening on other customers. it's most certainly not a different issue. Not sure why you wasted time, money sending me a router? All evidence points to the intermittent disconnects and the FNO outages being related in this case.

More importantly, ticket, #COOL-20220510-930871 which was logged on the 10th of May is still not resolved.
No internet since this morning, 3rd time in the last 3 weeks... why am I paying R1000pm for the internet to be offline all the time?

So you have no loss to the VPN though?

Tough to pinpoint where it starts as 99% of the time it never shows up on MTR. But it's expounded with any non-optimal routing to a server outside of London, which my VPN seems to take care of. It's not perfect but it at least eliminates some of the Russian roulette involved with server assignment.

Hi Chris.

we will get in touch with you shortly. I will also escalate this to Vumatel and keep you updated on the ticket at hand.

Thanks for the feedback, a line down is a different issue to an intermittent dropping line. If you had a line down and it recovered then it is a treated as a new line down.

For intermittent connectivity the first step is optic levels, then a router swap then back to the FNO for further investigation. Typically down to loss on the line.

I will escalate further on my side.

Do you have a tutorial or something you could send me, I want to setup a wireguard on a free oracle VPS but have absolutely no clue how to... Want to make a UK VPN to share with a friend

I used this script to install it quickly, as long as your VPS' linux distro is supported:

Anyone done an on-premises ONT move with Octotel before? Any idea how long I should expect to wait from paying until somebody contacting me?

Which FNO and area? No loss to international hosts for quite some time.
Metrofibre Umbilo, Durban.

700 packets lost in 10 minutes. Probably my worst ever. Since the changes that occurred over the weeks, my ping is higher and my packet loss is awful.

Yep was trying Amsterdam at the time.

Finding it difficult to game on CI at the moment. Not sure what's changed. Started using a WireGuard server I set up on my VPS in London on Vultr's infrastructure, which is at least stable.
I just got the server you were complaining about and was basically stuck in the mud meanwhile my friend on WebAfrica was fine

Why are you mentioning this if so many of us have said there's no loss on our MTR's and we still get packet loss?
And also, you guys yourself can't find the source of the loss, so even you mentioning "No loss to international hosts" says nothing?
There's so many of us with packet loss here now which can't be found, yet strangely no issue on Vox or Telkom myself, or on Webafrica (CrypticZA)?
Another week goes by, another Friday with no gaming to be done.
Struggling to find how Cool Ideas premium pricing is justified if you can't even game on the line.
