Metrofibre Umbilo, Durban.

700 packets lost in 10 minutes. Probably my worst ever. Since the changes that occurred over the weeks, my ping is higher and my packet loss is awful.
Highest I've got is 3200 packets lost in 30 minutes on Valorant, so I can believe that.

Why are you mentioning this if so many of us have said there's no loss on our MTR's and we still get packet loss?
And also, you guys yourself can't find the source of the loss, so even you mentioning "No loss to international hosts" says nothing?
There's so many of us with packet loss here now, yet strangely no issue on Vox or Telkom myself or on Webafrica says Cryptic?
Another week goes by, another Friday with no gaming to be done.
Out of interest, have you tried an account from another ISP to compare?

EDIT: on your own line, that is.

Vuma isn't open access like Openserve as far as I know, you can't just dial another PPPoE account.
I get 0 packet loss on a friend's Openserve line with a Telkom and a Vox account, 5km away from me.

Ah true, that is correct. Have you tried your Cisp account at your mate on their line?

As an aside I just remembered an issue I heard that we are experiencing at work with regards to TCP segmentation and loss on certain networks and it seems to have to do with a certain segmentation code/option being stripped by Linux routers/servers. Just a stab in the dark, but I wonder if it could be a similar issue.

EDIT: whatever the option was (I can't for the life of remember what it was - I find out) it is enabled on Windows Server by default, but disabled on the FNO's Linux distros. Also iirc regular Windows has it disabled by default. So it is unlikely, but maybe it could be of some help?

Wonder if Riot is having issues with their linx peering? (see third MTR below, minor, but present)

Won't work as the account is configured for Vumatel but thanks.

Struggling to find how Cool Ideas premium pricing is justified if you can't even game on the line.
Im using warp which connects locally and same thing on the same Amsterdam host but my friend is fine so idk must be Apex being **** as normal

The joys of Openserve I guess. I haven't had any issues with downtime on OS in four years other than the odd stage 4 loadshedding downtime. Never tried to play Apex or Valorant though. I could give it a try sometime to compare?

EDIT: Openserve are amazing.

I just got the server you were complaining about and was basically stuck in the mud meanwhile my friend on WebAfrica was fine

To add to the fun, there's also a separate Apex issue at the moment where your game will occasionally just completely bug out and give you almost 100% packet loss for no apparent reason, so bad that you can barely move. Alt-F4 and then reconnecting will usually clear it up completely, so that one in particular is definitely an Apex bug. I've seen streamers and other players in the US and EU get it too. Pity it's not a preventing sales of the latest Wraith skin - Respawn would have that fixed in under an hour.

Look, to be fair to them, I only started experiencing packet loss this bad since they started having a look around for a fix, while it's had the opposite effect for a friend of mine in JHB(Also with CI). I have higher and more unstable ping since this whole saga and huge packet loss, while he's had lower ping and much more stability.

Previously, we were sitting near identical in these regards, so I'm not sure what has changed in recent times, other than the recent changes CI was experimenting with..

Probably just a case of KZN drawing the short stick again, if I'm being honest.

Yea just like Lobas bracelet breaks on almost anything... been like that since start of season

My friend and I as a duo won like 6 ranked games last night so went from silver 3 to 100 away from gold... We were going on winning 3 in a row then got that bug, then later won two and on the third it happened again...

I sadly do need to say though...

Cloudflares network is S tier wow what a smooth experience lol

Are you using Warp or Warp+? I didn't really notice any difference in the routing between the two.

I am using warp+ via wireguard not their 1.1.1.1 app, I'm still using the first method that was discovered how to use the mobile app on pc

Their latency is a little higher for some places but it's smooth and consistent, seacom + workonline seem to provide a decent blend and they don't peer with Google locally so bonus

The current WARP client for Windows actually uses Wireguard now, so no need for all the extra hoops, but yeah, it's generally pretty smooth.

I'm on Vuma trenched in the Vaal, and I was having disconnects every couple of minutes in Heroes of the Storm this morning. Gave up trying to play because of it.

Edit: let me clarify, it wasn't specifically Blizzard's servers, I would lose throughput completely. I would get disconnected in game, it would last about 20 seconds and in those 20 seconds I wouldn't be able to load MyBB.
