Seacom NLD between CPT and JHB via Bloem is down due to a break between Tygeberg and Worcester.

The trace route is on the Afrihost network btw.
Yeah this is one of our paths but seems quite a few of the international networks use this path.

Hi @PBCool , can you have a look at #COOL-20220420-917166 for me please?

One of my colleagues has CISP at home and we have CISP at work... yet he cannot connect to or ping the office IP from his house, not vice versa.

I have CISP at home as well and can ping/VPN/RDP into my office just fine.

Trace from my office to his house:

Your team have provided a "work around" from home to office but it's not ideal.

Thanks!
Sure will check it out.

How we looking with Valorant?
4 months now. You need another 4 months to fix it?
155ms to London now too, instead of 142/145ms, to add to it.
Maybe by Xmas I can play the game again .
Bouncing to Vox that I know has no issues, if they will waive any migration fees, really had enough now, it's a joke man.
Can't wait to get out of this shithole country, can't even game properly in our gated electrified prisons when the power's on.

I'm now back on 190 to London from Durban. It's annoying now. I'm gonna check with others in my area. If there's a single ISP that offers better ping, I'm dropping CI.

Nobody else I know living in Durban has as variable ping as I do with CI. I'm just tired of it. Despite them saying they offer the lowest latency, I haven't seen any evidence that they do.

I notice that as well now in the Tarkov launcher.

We are going to try one more thing which we can do tomorrow if you are willing to test tomorrow evening? Latency to London is still 140ms via our network. Beyond that we don't have much control obviously.

I will try see how far the network team are with the KZN changes, your latency to London would either be 170ms via JHB or 160ms via Cape Town. You can test this by pinging uktest.cisp.co.za

There's definitely something wrong, EU latency is a bit higher than usual, stuff seems to be preferring the France peering. This is a trace to an i3D Amsterdam server.

It's possible, we dropped France due to there being errors on that interface but it may have restored. I'll have a look.

I’m feeling a bit dense here because I am not quite understanding this mailer.

Is the line speed upgrade permanent or is it just for the limited promotional period until the end of August, after which our lines speeds will revert to what they were?

My misunderstand is around this promo period time frame. It seems to me it could be understood to mean that the upgrades are for a limited time, but it could also be understood to mean that the process of upgrades will be done in batches from 13 June to end August and that the upgrade is permanent.

Not sure what I’m missing here… maybe I need another coffee…
