I cant seem to duplicate this:

1 100.99.2.226 0% 142 16.9ms 16.9 16.8 17.1
100.99.2.227
100.99.2.225
2 100.99.1.250 0.7% 142 16.9ms 16.9 16.8 17.2
3 196.60.9.113 2.1% 142 19ms 18.9 18.4 21.5
4 172.253.65.179 0.7% 142 16.9ms 17.1 16.9 25.6
5 216.239.40.199 0.7% 142 17.6ms 18 17.5 27.6
6 8.8.8.8 0% 142 16.9ms 17.3 16.8 68.6

And the graphs for the NLD are fine as well, maybe a very temp thing?
Been seeing this same thing whole weekend random bursts of loss its just enough to disconnect me from Dota 2 JHB servers... when I use Warp all is fine. Its the same as the issue before where you mentioned 1 NLD was down and 1 had loadshedding power issues and only 1 was avaliable and heavy congested

Where are you located ?

We did have some bumps in JHB today, as we were localising the sporadic packet loss. Issue was determined to be a border router, and as @PBCool indicated a change is scheduled for 4am this morning on one of the JHB border routers.

@PBCool, @TheRoDent , please see COOL-20221122-1066058.

I have been experiencing this problem for a while now, and feedback has just dried up, after being told that Gumani was going to escalate on the 29th.

This is on a 50/50 re-provisioned to 100/100 on TTC.
As per PM:

We are currently in process of getting our accellerator servers back in-line for assisting with slower international speeds.

This should be resolved during this week still. We removed the accelerators a week and a bit ago, due to an issue with one of the line cards in the device.

It is now back in the datacentre, and we will swing traffic over to it within the next few days.

@TheRoDent The JHB iperf servers seem to be down:
ter-jhb-iperf-1.cisp.co.za
is-jhb-iperf-1.cisp.co.za

Code:
iperf3 -R -u -b 10M -O2 -t 30 -p 17001 -c ter-jhb-iperf-1.cisp.co.za
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
[ ID] Interval Transfer Bitrate Jitter Lost/Total Datagrams
iperf3: interrupt - the client has terminated

iperf3 -R -u -b 10M -O2 -t 30 -p 17001 -c is-jhb-iperf-1.cisp.co.za
iperf3: error - unable to connect to server: Connection refused

@jannier are you seeing the same? I know you also picked up this issue before a while ago.

Totally understand that but the NLD comes up as clean on graphs so would typically be something else, let's wait for the change as mentioned as it's relative to the peering part.

I've also been experiencing a bit of packet loss to JHB since yesterday, I thought it may be the KZN NLD but it from what others are saying it could be something else?

Thanks to PBCool and the RoDent for replying to my PM’s.

I do not know when the accelerators were first implemented, but, if my line speeds internationally are way slower now on 100/100 than in 2018 on 50/50, the FNO should surely be accountable?

If they merely ignore the ISP, perhaps there is a case to be made for some sort of joint ISP action against them

You have no idea how much I have fought with TTConnect around packet loss. They consider it acceptable.

To the point where we even stopped accepting new customers on their network.

Days worth of meetings and legal letters.

There's articles on MyBroadband about it even.

I ain't going there again pal.

Can someone here from cool ideas please assist me. I have been with cool ideas now for 2 years and it has been the absolute most horrid ISP experience of my life. I have not had a single month where my internet does not intermittently drop. I am currently working from home and this has a massive impact on my business. The intermittent connections just appear to be getting worse and worse every month. I have recently replaced all the equipment on my side including the router and cables but it still happens. Every time I log a case with cool ideas they simply blame vuma and literally nothing happens. After a few days the intermittent connections goes away only to return worse the next month. My connection has now been dropping every few minutes for the past week with literally no assistance from cool ideas. they are again just blaming vuma and saying they have no control over it. My current case for this issue, apart from the other 18 cases I have logged over the past 2 years has now been open for more than a week yet the issue persists. Who do I escalate to or who can assist me?

Just an FYI change this morning went well so teams are actively monitoring from here.
Had degraded performance in the morning but it seems to be all resolved now - speeds and ping back to normal - Openserve

Had a drop as well about 10-15 minutes ago too.

Apparently a DFA issue. Been like this for me since August when I joined.
@PBCool would it be possible to go on DHCP? I was on that with Afrihost but had bad packet loss which was the reason for the ISP switch so just wanted to know if we can try it out and see if the packet loss is still there?

If the PPPoE session cannot be maintained due to the echo request timing out, it means that there was packet loss.

On DHCP, you will then have basically the same, packet loss.

Would it be worth lodging a complaint with the ombud ? (https://www.cgso.org.za/) ?

(international speeds still not fixed +1 month now)
