Ah, I see. Thank you.If the PPPoE session cannot be maintained due to the echo request timing out, it means that there was packet loss.
On DHCP, you will then have basically the same, packet loss.

Same here. Can someone here from cool ideas please assist me. I have been with cool ideas now for 2 years and it has been the absolute most horrid ISP experience of my life. I have not had a single month where my internet does not intermittently drop. I am currently working from home and this has a massive impact on my business. The intermittent connections just appear to be getting worse and worse every month. I have recently replaced all the equipment on my side including the router and cables but it still happens. Every time I log a case with cool ideas they simply blame vuma and literally nothing happens. After a few days the intermittent connections goes away only to return worse the next month. My connection has now been dropping every few minutes for the past week with literally no assistance from cool ideas. they are again just blaming vuma and saying they have no control over it. My current case for this issue, apart from the other 18 cases I have logged over the past 2 years has now been open for more than a week yet the issue persists. Who do I escalate to or who can assist me?
I have had 10 disconnects since this morning at 2. It's ridiculousSame here.
I'm in the East Rand. This seems to be a widespread issue.yes, I am getting the same disconnects at the same time as you. Are you situated in the centurion or pretoria/midrand area?
Not to discredit your post, but you do have packetloss on hop 1 (Your router)And another one. Between Eskom and Cool Ideas it's becoming impossible to get any work done

Yea, because the entire connection keeps goingNot to discredit your post, but you do have packetloss on hop 1 (Your router)
Yup. Never had as many issues with any ISP as with Cool IdeasThat just proves my point that this is a cool ideas issue and not a vuma issue in my area as I am constantly told by cool ideas support.
Yea I honestly don't know anymoreSort of similar - but this link is not taking any load but similar times.

That's on OS. Mine doesn't drop as much and it has been up 15 hours..
What grantduke is trying to say is that your local wifi/cable (nothing to do with fibre) is also dropping packets. The WAN side dropping should not take down the LAN side. Not that we're saying it's the overall cause of your issue; but it's a contributing factor.Yea, because the entire connection keeps going
Anyone having DNS issues?
So you dropping as I assume you are on wifi and its adding that extra loss to push you over. What kit do you have? Try improving the wifi and you might still have latency but no drop.Yea I honestly don't know anymore
