So the short term solution is to get LINX going for particular routes, I have reached out to riot and Blizzard thus far. Do you have the example for me so I can add to the list?

The DNS issue has been resolved now.

Was fixed for a while but now back as an intermittent issue. Sites like News24 and MyBroadband give a DNS error sometimes.
Changing to 1.1.1.1 fixes it immediately, probably going to keep it on that setting now.

To achieve the higher speeds you need to be running 5Ghz are you? Or only 2.4Ghz?
It's using 2.4ghz yes. I can't get it to connect to 5Ghz.

Will have someone reach out.
Someone phoned me yes. Unfortunately couldn't get the issue fixed before I had to leave for work. He'll phone me back earlier tomorrow morning.

He too can't see the 5Ghz at all, we can't connect to it. Weird stuff.

@TheRoDent @PBCool

Am I the only one with DNS issues the whole day ? The 9am fix was short term. Can't even update a game on Xbox now.

Very annoying to have to go change the DNS on every device, after that it works perfectly.

Same this side.
Cool Ideas/Vumatel

Youtube opens but not tabs show.
Twitch opens but then doesn't load the stream for a good while.
Also random.buffering while streaming.

Been like this since 10 this morning.

I am a bit confused discussing about getting connected but then the statement about providing a service for the last 12 months?

 ... Not sure if you are insinuating that we should have cancelled, after the disappointing experience/s had upon sign up. Your confusion is confusing. And your responses to me, alone have really deterred my enthusiasm further as well.

Thank you. I would very respectfully not like to receive any further responses. Just a personal preference.

I championed CI back when we first signed up. It was the first ISP I wanted to go with, for our brand-new fibre line. It was a very exciting moment for a life-long techie (spent most of my time in front of, and tinkering with computers since year ~2000). A long time dream come true. Had done my research. Always mentioned CI, and linked the positive articles etc., whenever someone mentioned wanting some ISP advice, be it privately, or on community/neighbourhood groups. Spoke about the good things seen, and commended the passionate people behind the scenes. Amazed at what has been achieved, like seemingly putting together a world-class network in just a few years, and delivering levels of service that often exceeds other big name players. Truly was a fan.

I guess with such high expectations, I didn't expect to be left on our own as a new customer, to figure things out. Not even a call to touch base. Maybe this is normal? Not sure. It would be nice to feel included.

Correction on my part: Re: Choice between CI router, or own router.
Yes, that looks familiar. I'm very sorry for misspeaking! :notworthy:
I couldn't recall that choice to be honest, in my prior message. Please forgive me. It was a while ago.
But now I remember that we chose that option because of the lack of price difference. And thought that it would be great to have the CI router handy, for redundancy/backup sake. We didn't need it, or really want it. It just seemed like the better option overall.

What happened after sign-up, was that I believe: I realized that the line was active. All lights on the ONT looked good. I tried my best to use our own router in the time (days, and over the weekend too) we had to wait for the CI router to be delivered via courier. Did everything I could think of with the account details provided. No luck. Asked here in this thread where I noticed rep's helping many people, whether we could use our own router. With no response.

As far as CI was/is concerned: Tough. Billing starts when the line is active. Boohoo. And now mention about the FNO not providing service... oy vey.

Thanks for all the assistance, sincerely. Hope all have a good day further.

Kind regards

Yes I am sorry I don't follow a lot of the statements as you said you were signing up, but then there was a mention of being a client for 12 months.

We send all details via mail as well as with the router, we also do follow up calls. So if none of that has happened then I am happy to investigate.

If your line was not active we will simply credit back to when it went active.

So I am just trying to make sense of this all, is there still something I can assist with at all?

Ok, have moved the DNS to Rosebank as our primary. Possibly was load balancing between Isando and Rosebank, which with our Anycast could have caused issues.

Any update on the CPT to UK return route issues? Ping is still uncomfortably high at ~185ms
Do you have the host for me? I am back at the office tomorrow so can look at some traffic steering in some more detail.

Hey sure, TheRoDent has all the detail on the issue, including my IP and another friend that is affected. In a nutshell there are certain ip blocks which appear to be used in multiple regions so being in CPT some IPs (including mine) are preferring the new transit return routes instead of WACS.
This affects all non locally peered traffic, everything from EU is returning via the new transit.
My previous post has an outbound trace and return trace via Blizzard's looking glass:
New transit facilities sounds like a good thing :) Blizz still wonky @ 180-200ms - same with your UK VPN. Return path issue perhaps?

Hey sure, TheRoDent has all the detail on the issue, including my IP and another friend that is affected. In a nutshell there are certain ip blocks which appear to be used in multiple regions so being in CPT some IPs (including mine) are preferring the new transit return routes instead of WACS.
This affects all non locally peered traffic, everything from EU is returning via the new transit.
My previous post has an outbound trace and return trace via Blizzard's looking glass:
Yeah if you are on openserve that would be the case.

Any reason why there is an increase in latency to league of legends servers? Normally get 175ms and it has been around 200ms for a few days now?

Any feedback from Vumatel Villages about the random disconnects?
+1 for this, these disconnects in the West Rand are really starting to get much now!

Every time i log a ticket, support will call and tell me there is nothing wrong, and my line has been stable for the entire time.

I logged another request on Friday, and support said "Yes, there was an outage in your area, but it has been fixed"

Then i had issues on Saturday (around 4 disconnects while i was at home) A couple disconnects yesterday, so whatever the issue is, it has definitely not been resolved.

I'm in the West Rand as well and yesterday I had 4 disconnect and every time I report it I get a standard copy/paste reply that does nothing to solve the issue.

Vumatel technicians have been here multiple time. Tested the line, replaced the ONT and tested the lines going out of complex ad still nothing has changed.
