Interesting, I think I moved back to 500/200 before this happened. They really should just shelve the 1000/200 then and make 1000/250 the standard, they still offer both.

With CISP It is now 1000/250 officially since 1 January 2023 and I was also billed accordingly R1499 for 1000/250.

It was a promotion from about July of 2022 to last until 31 December 2022.

But around 7 - 10 October 2022 for some unknown reasons they moved us back to 1000/200 profiles and nobody knows why that happened. It is like the 1 hand does not know what the other hand is doing at Vumatel.

They now today discovered miraculously that the profiles are locked at 200 upload again. And will fix (upgrade) this by Monday.

With a 1000/250 profile and a good line you should get the following, more or less, it depends all on the speedtest server of cause.

is PE being routed via jhb instead of cpt rn? ping went from 149 to 178 and local ping is 38ms instead of 10-12ms
Seems So. I move from Frogfoot to Vuma due to the constant stability issues in PE on a weekly basis. Now seems lately Vuma having issues too now.

Got a call from Octotel technician who said they'd come by tomorrow, didn't know they worked Saturdays but I'm glad something is happening :fingers-crossed:

Yeah it seems it isn't a flat config so some were still at 250 and others not, hence why they didn't really want to dig much deeper.

Yeah I'll raise it, to be honest we don't get a whole lot of requests for the feature. But will see what our options are.
It's an issue when I am.logged in to the clientzone. My ocd gets triggered. I would try every possible way to get mine closed. Only to give up and keep the clientzone logged out to allow me to forget about those annoying open tickets.

@PBCool please can you assist with a friends setup (they moved into a new unit) and apparently it was an issue that no one was in the unit since about March last year? Please can you help sus out some details for us. Seems odd but they also keen to get going before work resumes ect.

Any feedback on what's actually gone wrong? They're a new customer of CISP and already wanting to move as they can't get any answers on what's going on.

Yeah, live in the area. Constant disconnects. 5 days no connectivity in December. Not sure if it’s more vuma villages issue.

Greenstone has had ongoing issues which has been with their backhaul provider DFA as well as firmware issues on their OLTs apparently.

hey @PBCool any update on when routing from PE to cpt will be fixed? currently seems to be routing through jhb which increases ping quite a bit to eu

He called the call center to log a ticket, but was told to check the website as the area was experiencing an outage, so no official ticket was created, I can ask him to call back and open one?

Yes or PM me an invoice number or account holder. The area recovered a day later so should be logged.

Am Octotel tech came to replace my ONT at 12:30 today, he left and said the internet would be back within and hour. It’s now almost 5 and I’m still offline. Managed to get hold of the technician who says it “should” be working.

Why is it so painful working with telecoms companies?

Yup really badly, sometimes takes about 1-2 mins to start playing...

Are other ISP's having this issue?
