Hi Guys,
I got a mail recently stating that my line will be auto upgraded to 150/150mb speed. However I would like to stay on the 100/100 package I am on. What is the best process to follow to retain this setup? Or must I go ahead with the upcoming change?
@PBCoolGetting packet loss again.
Basically every night this week, some nights worse than others.
Any feedback?
Hi, so to explain a bit:@PBCool
As per this post last night. There is constant packet loss in the evenings.
This has been the case, pretty much all week.
I really need a resolution on this, as I'm getting MWEB vibes now where packet loss appears to be acceptable.
While its annoying that I cannot enjoy any EU related games with this, more importantly, I work for the US. This means I'm often having to jump on calls and work during the 7-10PM time window where this seems to be a constant issue.
This has been a constant on going problem for months now as this thread will show. As expected, performing the same tests now in the AM = 0 packet loss.
Is there any hope of this being resolved? It's okay if it isn't, but I will need to know so I can try a different ISP.
So far I'm 2/2 with ISP's and packet loss during peak times. (Two different physical locations and 1 was trenched vuma and current is aerial vuma).
I've attached a screenshot from a test this morning.
Based in JHB.
Appreciate the input.
I appreciate the update here, I'm glad you chaps are monitoring closely.Hi, so to explain a bit:
There has been loss at peak times this week from Sunday to Tuesday, this was due to the accelerator creating some sort of loss (tests bypassing the accelerator to London were clean), this was then fixed on Tuesday evening. Wednesday had no loss to international destinations.
There was a brief amount of loss last night via the carrier which they are investigating.
So it is something we are aware of and something we monitor closely, I will update once I get any feedback.
Vumatel did have some outages yesterday as well, but that is obviously aside from what we saw from our side.
If your job depends on connectivity and they have EU issues install Warp if you can as a backup, it connects locally and is free, it will just provide another route out the country which might not be problematic.@PBCool

Yeah I often use a vpn to bypass the issues. I have noticed, using various vpn type services, they often have more issues than ISP's do. Coming from home connect/metro fibre at my old place, I never had a days kak. Internet just worked.Yeah I often use a vpn to bypass the issues. I have noticed, using various vpn type services, they often have more issues than ISP's do. Paid or unpaid.
Additionally, I'm paying 1.5k for 1gb line.. I shouldn't really have to spend another cent more to get a stable connection. I also feel like I'm a very reasonable person lol. I won't complain if its an "every now and then" issue, unfortunately, the packet loss has been around for the majority of my time with CI. Coincidence perhaps. But yeah.
100% i agree just more a fyi if it was critical the cloudflare free vpn is actually pretty solid and connects in CT/JHB so huge plus.Yeah I often use a vpn to bypass the issues. I have noticed, using various vpn type services, they often have more issues than ISP's do. Paid or unpaid.

Yeah that is TT Connect for youComing from home connect/metro fibre at my old place, I never had a days kak. Internet just worked.
Now with Tt connect and CI, I feel like I’m back in the techie field, always getting called in the household to fix stuff not connecting
Much appreciated. I was at the "about to lose my job" phase when I was using MTN LTE AND RAIN simultaneously bobbing and weaving between the two depending on how the wind blew. (also had excellent coverage). They just don't supply internet during loadshedding. (they say they do, but they don't.)100% i agree just more a fyi if it was critical the cloudflare free vpn is actually pretty solid and connects in CT/JHB so huge plus.
I know of people who said they would lose their job because of certain ISP issues so more of a case of if you really need to its an option
