@TheRoDent
My connection has been running pretty well since Thursday last week. Thankfully. Will keep an eye on this throughout the week this week.
I see a few comments regarding FNO congestion. Is there any actual indication of this, or visibility.
Just want to start planning ahead, in case this is a vumatel issue they're just not willing to correct, it would probably make sense to sign up with Open Serve.
FNO congestion seems to rear its head at some point or another, if it is an ongoing issue and there are alternative FNOs then we will assist you move. But it it isn't a problem, then don't worry about it.

Are you sure?
I mean it's not like I've been posting graphs and bitching every day for the last 20+ days in the other thread.
As in this isn't the first time we have had FNO congestion. My contact at Vumatel are aware of the congestion in the coastal region, they tried to turn up some emergency capacity but didn't have any luck.

I am hopefully getting an indicative ETA from them today on resolution.

There is so much stuff going on at DFA and Vumatel it's been a nightmare.

@PBCool I can imagine, when the FNO network starts failing it becomes a nightmare for the isp's.
Unfortunately, for me, it seems that OpenServe isn't in my immediate area.
I'm trying to get hold of them to see what's required to run a cheeky line down the street lol.
At the end of the day, packet loss = unusable internet in my case.
But things have been better lately so we'll see.

Backup but i think the lightning in the area is causing the issues

99ms to CT currently. Hopefully it will normalise once the lightning has passed

Lightning typically has no effect on fibre services, unless it strikes a pop.

I've noticed that WoW traffic seems to be routing via ixp jhb from cape town.
Is there a reason for this? Adding what seems to be around 30ms of latency.
Switching to VPN in the UK and i'm at the normal 145 - 150ms mark.
