@PBCool - is it possible for you guys to investigate extremely slow speeds to Google Drive? Both download and upload are slow as hell, sometimes to the point of timing out.

It's entirely possible it's a GDrive issue, but it's currently frustrating me to the point of looking for an alternative like OneDrive and I wanted to check before I did.
Doesn't seem that bad here. What speeds are you getting?

I was downloading now at around 100-200Mbps (over wifi).

Downloads aren't AWFUL, I get around 15MB/sec. That said, this is a 1gbps line and this is supposedly local traffic.

Uploads however are really bothering me - they seem to max out around 30-40mbps (megabits) and time out very frequently.

Uploads are fine here too. Uploaded a 1.5GB file in about 1-2minutes.

Used the web app, I've had issues with speeds with the desktop apps before so I never use it.

DNS is Cloudflare.

Hmm, I'm using the desktop app as it maps a local drive to your Google drive which I can use for some easy automated backups. Perhaps that's the issue then - though it's baffling why their native app would be slower than the web interface.

OneDrive's desktop app maxes out my upload and the GDrive web interface is a bit quicker too. This GDrive desktop app must just be trash.

Came across it while googling Gdrive alternatives, amusingly. Will set it up later and see how I go, thanks.

I use a combo of rclone, rclone browser and mounted with rclone using winfsp. Works well. Speeds are great.

Anyone else on Vuma 1000/250 still getting 200 upload?
All good here, Brackenfell, CPT.
Was fixed around 1st week of January. The upgrade is permanent since 1 January 2023

You must submit a ticket to CISP, Vuma has to phisically upgrade this on their end. A port reset, a profile recreate, nothing will work. It is at the Exchange or PoP level that the profile scripts needs to be updated.
Some idiot(s) at Vumatel in October 2022 replaced the 1000/250 promotions that was supposed to last until 31 December 2022, back to 1000/200, and now they to lazy to fix it all. Just let CISP turn up the heat at Vumatel.

Vumatel has so much heat at the moment if they could harness it they could solve all of our electricity problems

rclone is perhaps a little faster, but still below 100mbps, nevermind saturating at 200mbps.
Might be worth changing IP then if you get the same results, obviously we have no control of how Google manages their ingest.

Same issue on a 155.xxx address as a 102.xxx address. I suspect an arbitrary upload rate throttle is in place somewhere on Google's side for whatever reason.
