I checked on IBM X-Force and traced the IP back. That same IP hosts

intimgirls dot net

which is at Risk level 4.

Another site on the same IP is

www dot napidoktor dot hu

which is marked as a spammer.
so its also possible that a desktop or network agent AV will stop it, which it was doing in my case. It also load balances between 104.26.14.170 and 104.26.15.170

PS: Don't go to those sites!

When I figured it out, I also think that site is unstable. Its wordpress!
When I checked now this is what it gave:

LOL, thanks for the thorough ondersoek :D

Yeah, I know its a wordpress site and its sometimes on the fritz, but have been using it for a long time. Will try 9.9.9.9 like @jannier, but doubt it will make a difference in my case as using CISP's dns and 1.1.1.1 both timeout.

I'll just use a VPN via my browser to grab what I need and hope that Cloudflare fix that in the future via CISP's outreach :)

Hi Guys

Anyone else on Openserve in PTA that is also on 100/50 package I just wanted to check what speeds you are getting I am only getting 108/45 I have tested directly on the ONT and same results, one of my friends also use CISP and he gets 107/55

I just wanted to check if this is what I should get or if it is maybe a problem

It can only be the line that limits the service, so we would need to take this up with Openserve and I highly doubt they would do anything if we submit that sort of result. Are there any other issues besides throughput?

No the line has been fine otherwise was just a little worried as the upload is about 10 odd mbps less but if you say it should be fine like that then its ok just wouldve been nice if I had the extra upload

@PBCool or @TheRoDent ,

Is it possible to get a lower ping to 'Albion online' using the path via South America?
I see from the path below that it is going via London.

SACS was decommissioned months ago everything goes via London now
Exactly, we had more complaints around asymetric routing than anything else as well as complaints around gaming being a thing with latency steering.

I'm a little confused with the comms: Is the Frogfoot "Double Up" promo ending?

I'm on a 500/500 package, currently "doubled up" to 1gbps/1gbps. It's lovely. And overkill. But too lovely.

From the comms, it seems as though my 500/500 will remain the same, but I'm not sure if the Frogfoot promo still applies from 01 May?

Please advise, because I am prepared to pay an extra R200/month for Gigabit goodness (but would prefer to save the R200 if the double-up promo is going to continue...) ?

@PBCool - any word on this?

You can also not always trust what in-game ping/latency tells you.

I wish those where latency to EU, USA, Asia.

To inject a fairly rare portion of positivity, @PBCool , I had excellent service from Thabo Raborife in your support team today. He called me less than 10 minutes after I logged a query in the consumer portal. While he couldn't help resolve my problem (it's something local to my network, I just can't figure out what), the prompt response and helpful/informed manner of it was greatly appreciated.

Yeah support really has been stellar from CISP. Last week when my line went down, Brandon phoned me also in 15-20 minutes after I first logged a fault. Someone from Openserve was at my premises later that afternoon already. Problem got sorted the next morning (cable was snapped off inside the box at the pole somehow:eek:). Issue was resolved with a new splice in the box, service restored. Brandon phoned me again before close of business, later that afternoon. Pretty happy I stuck with CISP, no intention of changing ISPs any time soon. Well done CISP! :D

Have dealt with Thabo before - always a consumate professional. Even sat on a conference call with me and a FF engineer till 7pm when i was at my old place to diagnose a line speed issue.

When on the other side of the spectrum, here I am coming up on 2 weeks with a ticket and no meaningful action being taken apart from them looking into it and saying it's constantly being escalated.

So there are 2 sides to every coin.

Let me follow up again, I was under the impression this was resolved.
