Should be working... Can you ping q2.cisp.co.za ?Fine. Is there a reason the q2.cisp.co.za vpn isn't working all of a sudden? Based in Cape Town and it can't seem to connect anymore?

The fast-re-route has been in place, and has been working well in general. Except, today, Liquid went totally dead, and the DD route was so congested that the re-route was pointless.Hopefully the new NLDs can be added to the arista fast re route setup, because the NLDs seem to be flapping a lot lately![]()

Undersea cables don't have clueless contractors working around them or cable thieves though... so they got that going for emThe fast-re-route has been in place, and has been working well in general. Time for a third. I wish NLD's were as stable as undersea cables.

What is the ETA for the new third point of failure? Dual failures should be rare, but they don't seem to affect other ISPs for some reason. That is exactly what process is in motion. It unfortunately doesn't happen immediately, but it is our top priority.
Again, dual failures shouldn't be repetitive thing. Unfortunately, it has happened now twice in a short period.
Wireguard. It is not a reliable solution against ISP related issues neither a silver bullet against outages as currently experienced. Not much can be done to combat service degradation other than getting a better service or service continuety or otherwise backup. How do you go about setting up WARP at the router level?
You are completely correct, in this case it's not dual cable failure. It's a path from the one provider on the fibreco/seacom leg. So we will be using the Seacom portion directly with Seacom going forward. What is the ETA for the new third point of failure? I will still give CI another chance. For now.
What's it like for DOTA currently? Any idea?
I am not playing Dota i am watching Dreamleague on Twitch but i use Wireguard most nights for Dota 2 i just posted a speedtest to JHB and with streaming 1080P getting 90/100 so should be gucciWhat's it like for DOTA currently? Any idea?
So one path has been rubbish for a while and the other one doesn't know it's operating in South Africa? Any company (other than heavy industry) that is still having load shedding problems these days might as well close their doors.1) The one (most direct) liquid NLD route has become basically completely unreliable this year, when historically it was very reliable. It's highest up-time in 2 months was for 7 days (we implemented the fast reroute to mitigate against it)
2) Our other path has been far more reliable but recently suffered from some load shedding woes.
Yes. You can just use a different PPPOE account on Openserver and Vumatel Aerial. U are out of luck if u are one Vumatel trenched.I don't work in IT, so excuse me if this is a stupid question.
I see a few guys have posted they switched to accounts with other ISP and it works.
How does that work? In the days of ADSL you would switch ISP accounts on your router. Is that still an option with Fibre? How do you get the additional account without the line?
I'm on Openserve.
Just to play devils advocate here, the sea doesn't reach Joburg where a lot of them "land".Undersea cables don't have clueless contractors working around them or cable thieves though... so they got that going for em
As long as you can get to your destination with acceptable access.View attachment 1589444
