Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 6

I think I found the ticket you logged (#COOL-20241003-1976434) (please correct me if I'm wrong ), as I see 2 images were shared a few moments ago.
That white box on the wall (with no lights)would be where the ONT plugs into the fibre, and is not an ONT.

If this is the only box there, then MTN would need to install an ONT at the premises, and the only SLA I can provide is 2-3 weeks.
Perhaps it would be sooner since the Fibre line appears to be installed already, which would speed things up.

But we will do our best to get the link up and running in a timely manner :)

He is trying to get the tenants who were in the house to return the ONT then hopefully it can be expedited. Thanks so much for the help

Good morning :)

Having trouble "Connecting..." to some apps on my cell phone this morning. Even tried the Proton VPN app, but no luck either. When I switch on my mobile data, it works completely fine.

Just wanted to check if any others might be experiencing a similar issue, thank you 🙏

MetroFibre, trenched. Riverhorse Valley, KZN.

UPDATE: [6:16AM]

Tested again now, and it looks to be working ✅ Thanks all 🙏 And happy Fri-yay 🥳

I'm having the same issues, apps and sites won't work but it's fine on 4G.

Hi @CoolEscalator

Could you please check what's up with this order: #COOL-20240925-1958878

I've been told the line is configuring to the network, but that was Monday, and said it would be done in 24-48 hours. Tried to call back today and they're still busy.

Thanks!

Hi there, thank you for reaching out, and apologies for the delays.

I have followed up internally with the relevant teams involved for clarity on the progress

Any thoughts on moving from Cool ideas to Webafrica? The support service has gone down so looking to move since this was the premium they claim we are paying for
Paying R929 for a 50/50Mbps line while Webafrica is offering 100/100Mbps at R889 which is much better value
Netflix rating seems to be the same on both
Appreciate any experiences and guidance

Do your homework and have a look at the forums and memes about WA :)

Perhaps only Supersonic is worse than Webafrica

Would appreciate if you could mention in a PM to me or @CoolEscalator why you feel that our support service has gone down.

Thanks for the advise - getting mixed reviews on the forums vs others on them.
WA bought Mweb so also have a look at Mweb complaints, especially the being throttled during peak hours.

Honest unbiased opinion pay CISP the few extra green Nelson Madela's and live worry free - assuming you can afford it of course
