Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 6

This is happening so often now. It goes for 10-40 mins and then comes back. What's going on? It's not a very reliable connection these days. Is it Frogfoot or CISP?

Hi there, this appears to be FF, as @grant_cpt is with Afrihost

I will check with FF if they are aware of anything

EDIT: seems to have been short-lived, is anyone else back up too?

Frogfoot: Neighbour on CISP off.
I'm online on Afrihost.

Was exactly the same on May 4th when my neighbours and friends on CISP were offline, but Afrihost unaffected.

FrogFoot busy froging again as usual.
Except I am using Vox, but FrogFoot as the FNO. it is a FrogFoot issue.

It's back up. There was a long stretch where Frogfoot was perfect, but it seems in the past few months there have been a bit more of these weird short-lived outages.

Strange, seems its random then, as the above ping plotter was to a AH and Coolideas customer.

Indeed. Thanks for confirming you are back up too

I just had a few PPPoE drops, and the times line up with the red parts of your screenshot.
Seems fine now for the last 10 mins.

Internet just went off, Sunningdale Tableview Cape Town on frogfoot.

Anyone else?

Edit: nevermind back up...
Had the same in Kommetjie. Off for a couple minutes. FF.

It'll get worse from 16:00. One does not simply watch the IPL (if on FF).

Hi Maurice, and All. FF confirmed that they've identified an issue in CPT but the impact has cleared. Please log this with support if you're still experiencing issues after a reboot.

Supposed to be 500/500 - Any ideas? MTN JHB
Good day. Please note, MTN has not confirmed any issues from their end. If you have a ticket open, please provide us with your #COOL reference so we may follow up with our Support Team. If not, please log one via [email protected] or 010 593 2665 and provide us with the reference.

We dropped peering with locally HE due to the poor quality of their transport to SA. Aware it does mess with their tunnel broker :(
