Google had emergency maintenance, so I would put it down to that. Did you try any other IPs in JHB?Seeing lots of packet loss all of a sudden from Cape Town to JHB (8.8.8.8 specific)

Edit:
Looks like its fine again. Was just a small hiccup.
PM me your account name and I'll check it out for you.Do existing clients not benefit from the price reduction for openserve? Still being billed R1999 for 100Mbps
Hi PBCool.
Fiber should be going live via Vuma in the next 2 weeks in our area. If we sign up mid month, is the cost for the month pro-rated?
Also, how easy is it to upgrade speeds from say 20mbps to 100mbps. Can the speed upgrade be done anytime o just at month ends?
Apologies if this has been asked and answered before.
Hi, yes it's pro-rated for the rest of the month, if it's Trenched Vumatel you can upgrade at any time, but it makes it a bit easier for accounts to do so at the end of the month.
Hey PB, regarding Twitch. I was chatting to a mate in AWS and he reckons we could setup a reverse proxy/CDN at CISP. Can you do this?
and then we just make sure that we are using your DNS and you could manage the requests to twitch.
I am not entirely clued up on all the correct terminology, but technically we could do this.
Are you talking about watching streams? Or about actually streaming yourself?![]()
So if you are referring to watching streams, it wouldnt matter if we proxy it, as traffic at our DCs or core is the same as the traffic our customers have reaching the Twitch peer. If you are referring to "pushing" everyone's Twitch outbound streams via our Twitch server, we could do this but would rather avoid it and make it a manual opt in service for now.
Aerial or Trenched? And obviously you are testing over a cabled device?I know PBCool is quite responsive on here. I see to be having intermittent connection on vumatel Fibre and cool ideas isp. I am not sure what’s happening. This has persisted the entire month of may. I first logged a ticket 4th May and was asked to check speed test this is fine once the internet is connected but it keeps going offline and this is very frustrating.
What is a good fair amount of usage for someone on a 100/100 line before you get upset at them. Even if its ligit traffic, would 2TB be fine
Tried making the payment via payfast over EFT for ABSA twice and it just seems to either be slow or just wont work. Do you know of a issue or maybe just being month end ?
In the end i made the payment via my FNB and that was quick.
