Cool Ideas + Vuma Aerial Static IP

I had Vuma Aerial install my fibre today, now just waiting for Cool Ideas to activate the service in the morning.

I was wondering if its possible to get a static IP address on a Cool Ideas residential package (50/5mbps). I would be willing to pay a reasonable rate for it, it will make working from home so much easier.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this happening?

Why not e-mail them.. I've done it in the past and their response was quite quick...
They generally seems very keen and obliging to help.

As soon as my LTE contract is up, they're the first people I'm calling

Yes I am going to enquire tomorrow when I pick up my router. Holding thumbs they will be able to help.

Everytime it has been their turn to do something during the installation they have been super fast and helpful, can't wait to switch off my LTE router

Not sure, I just want piece of mind that my IP will be static so I can whitelist it on my works network/servers/etc

I don't believe Cool Ideas will give out a static IP on a home package. For that, you have to pay for a business package. However, can you whitelist using a DNS name instead ? I currently use namecheap for a domain pointing at my router and when my IP changed, the updated address was visible almost instantly. So far, I've had my connection since February and my IP has changed once.

We don't offer static on residential packages. On trenched Vumatel the IP is semi static by default as mentioned. But on aerial it isn't due to the PPP sessions. If you are connecting to your office why not use VPN instead?

Convenience and by the sound of it, the OP is using SSH to connect to his servers. :)

Yeah if the corporate network is strict on connecting IPs then VPN is the best way around.

Thanks all. I will make use of a VPN, I think it may be the best solution.

On a side note, my 50mb line is awesome. I think I have downloaded the internet over the last few days. Thanks PBCool
