wrong section, you must go to the Philosophical Debates
There's nothing philosophical about this country. I asked more of a rhetorical question...you expect nothing to surprise you anymore about this place, and yet, on a daily basis, you have cr&p like this crawl out of some hole to do this.

I still say that when people in a certain field has been found guilty in that specific area, his sentence should be harsher. If someone in the police is found guilty of theft, rape, assault etc., that person should get the maximum prescribed sentence + 50%. Same goes if e.g. a lawyer commits fraud or any other "white collar crime" etc., same harsher sentence.
When he goes to jail, make it known he's a rapist ex-cop. There you go...fend for yourself now.

If something happens so often people become desensitized to it. Hence why the community is not storming that police station and the TV stations not covering it. It is yet another rape

Look how without emotion our police minister talks about the most gruesome gang rapes
If something happens all the time people stop caring.

Same thing happened with Covid. We became desensitized. How many people died of Covid in SA alone. Over 100K. Yet we won't have anniversary even or hold candles. People stop caring because if you do you will talk about it all the time.
The DA should drive around with a big screen and loud speakers playing this snippet on repeat, with a big banner saying, vote for us so we can appoint a real policeman instead of a school teacher.

If we were to use Cele's reasoning he would say:

Bheki Cele: Tis one, is even luckier! as she was raped by a police officer. You see while she was being raped she had the full protection of the police officer, so one can say this is the safest rape possible...

They appointed a teacher to run SAA. Look how that turned out. This is no different, except there's no SOE to kill with incompetence. It's our justice system and police force he's damaging irreparably.
DA can do nothing really...people will still ignorantly/stupidly/illogically vote for the ANC and then moan when nothing happens.

This culture seems to produce some really interesting characters, like the other dude that raped his own daughter in a cemetery and got her pregnant.

Taking evil to ever greater heights, this should be the motto of the ANC

Maybe you enjoy being sick? Because a rape conviction usually comes with a sanction that is way more than a slap on the wrist.

But I would be interested to hear of any cases where the offender, especially a police officer gets away with a slap on the wrist and being transferred, maybe you are basing your assertion on something more than just being a soothsayer.
SAPS members still actively serving 2019 with criminal records. I,E been through judicial process and received sentencing. Note rape features as well.

Public places is pretty common it seems

“1 546 people were raped in public places such as streets, parks and beaches.” Minister Bheki Cele

The third most likely place of rape cases is in public transportation such as buses, taxis and trains.

Another example of a recent case. The grade 10 boy who gang raped him at initiation school but no one has been arrested despite him being hospitalized and it being reported to the police.

If gang rates are not taken seriously then I can understand how will anyone have confidence to report to the police when you are lucky and raped by one only

society is not the same as country, society is much more general and the issues this country faces is not much different to what society as a whole is going through

Previously you were harping about innocent until proven guilty and law will take its course. SA does have strict laws but the implementation of those laws is bad. We just saw it recently with Cele statement saying if you are raped by one consider yourself lucky.

There are so many people in the chain of government that is required to be diligent in their jobs for a person to go to jail. The social workers, police, evidence gathering and storage, investigating officer, the forensics, the prosecutor. Even in rape cases where you have the witness statement they are more likely to never get their day in court.

This is old. Stats have gotten worse
One ****ing percent. That's it. That was back in 2008. Things have deteriorated since then.

You want a case. How about this fine gentleman?
Yawwwnnn, no, that's not what I asked for, learn to read.

Oh you wanted examples of promotions after rapes. Here are some. Is this what you asked for

Reinstated to PEC after rape charges. No progress made 2 years later.

The Commission for Gender Equality said promoting a convicted child rapist to mayor is a slap in the face of voters and all gender-based violence survivors.

This after Icosa councillors teamed up with the ANC in the Western Cape's Kannaland to vote convicted child rapist Jeffrey Donson back into power.

Back in 2004 Donson, the then Kannaland mayor and married father of three repeatedly raped a child. He was convicted of statutory rape and indecent assault of a 15-year-old while mayor in Kannaland in 2008.

Another one convicted child rapist promoted to major by ANC.

How about the most famous one. Zuma after raping a woman was made president of the ANC and South Africa.
He was found not guilty as he said climbing on top of someone who could be his daughter was his duty as a Zulu man and he didn't need her consent to do so. Because she froze he saw that is consent .

No, not sufficient and mostly irrelevant.

This is horrific.
I was about to say I remember a case where police raped a rape victim when she went to report a case. I then tried googling the case but seems there's far too many cases where rape victims get raped by police while reporting the initial rape. Sickening.

I gave you 3 examples. Please say how each of the 3 are irrelevant. You asked, I provided. Eric Kholwane reinstated by ANC to PEC after being charged of rape of children, a convicted child rapist being made major by ANC and a person being made ANC president after non consensual sex of someone who could be his daughter.

That is why I say people have become desensitized to it.

Remember how the drug addict David Ninow was on the mouth of all political parties in mainstream press for finger raping a girl in a bathroom.

Just a few days ago a 6 year old goes to a bathroom at school and is raped. Yet the mainstream media is silent.

This happens every week.
