Is there race involved in this? otherwise, I don't see how even twitter could make this news....
As you will learn (as I have just learnt), many people who are popular on Twatter, are paying people to "retweet" and "upvote" their content and make it trend.
It was even potrayed in a recent episode of The Blacklist (on Netflix), a nice apartment with a 12-strong team of Chinese guys doing Twitter Popluarity for a fee.

Bundling all taxi drivers into one category is really retarded - I know quite a lot of decent taxi operators ... these guys ferry more than 3.7 million passengers a day... You don't just go around lumping people into one category because of the actions of a few...
I'm sure you are right but I can show you countless video's of taxi's driving on the wrong side of the road, skipping robots and going through stop streets at speeds waaaay past the speed limit - all of this just on Forest drive in Pinelands.
Unfortunately the 99% of @sshole taxi drivers give that solitary good guy a bad name.

so yes, we are generalizing but it's completely warranted!

I do.
I'm on foot, crossing the intersection. The taxis are driving across the intersection in violation of a red light. The drivers' windows are often open.
I yell ******* at the drivers.
They ignore the silly old woman and carry on trying to run over pedestrians.
Yup. I get a few choice words back but hey. I know I'm a white Bitch.
At least I'm not a dumb C2nt.

Based on my regular bad experiences with minibus taxi drivers, I'm not a fan of them, to put it nicely.

Would be interesting to know why they pulled the taxi over.
Most likely to inform the taxi driver that his anal leakage on the roads is not acceptable.

You are absolutely correct , you are welcome to put all of the indecent and exceptionally bad unlicensed taxi operators that continually violate numerous laws every few minutes (individually and collectively) into the same category so they don't feel disadvantaged by being excluded from your categorical classification that only includes those that you claim to know.

Look, I've said it before. Taxi drivers are usually at the mercy of the taxi owners. The drivers have to pay a fixed rand amount to them every day, and only take home what they make over and above that. Hence the frantic need to pick up as many passengers as possible.

So, while I totally disagree with the running of red robots and such, if you rather give them a space to come in etc - they will often actually thank you more than the average road user.

Well then they should inform some union and strike for better work conditions. Start by burning the taxis

Fsck 'em, why must we accommodate their bad behaviour and give them preferential treatment.
