Copy from SIM to phone

My mom is trying an old iPhone.

She has her contacts on her SIM. If she puts that SIM into her iPhone, is it possible to copy from SIM to phone... And back up to icloud?

It's fairly easy.

Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Scroll down (Contacts Section)

Import SIM Contacts.

Her and my stepfather are old and wanted something basic and simple. I thought you couldn't get much simpler than Apple...

He got the 6 and I think she got his old 4/4S. I can't really help them much with how they work though
