Cordless (house) mobile phone. Anyone??!?!

Hi there, I recently bought a Siemens C345.

I have a very weird problem with my gigaset C345.

When i call from it, everthing works.

But when i try to call my house number where the gigaset c345 is connected it doesn't ring or show anything on the screen at all.

And the mute button, ive checked, its off ( this is the bell that comes up when u press and hold star) , im sure its off.

The volume is also set to max on both the base and the handset.

And i am also able to page the phone.

Also other stuf ive tried that didn't work is:
- Ive reseted the phone to default settings
- Ive de-registered the phone, and registered it again.


I dont know what else i can do??

Another funny thing is, when i call it from a phone, and then take my gigaset C345 and hold in the call button on it it acually answer the call.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit : i sended this msg, to siemens, but maybe some 1 else knows what to do or have a gigaset phone.

Ive also called siemens but there tech support , was'nt really of much help.

if they don't know what to do they te.ll me to return the phone, but its my second gigaset and the other 1 did the same thing but it works now.(some friend got it to work, but he forgot what he did lol)

Lol yes 1 reply.

U must of not understood me... THe phone doesnt ring or shows anything on the screen when you call it.

But when i take the phone and just hold in the call button it answers the call.

It works, but i cant see ur know when some 1 is calling me.

A colleague brough a Gigaset in from Germany and it also didn't ring else it worked perfectly. Look at the box an see if it is for the SA market and whether it is ICASA approved. It was most probabily imported directly by the retailer and will not work. Siemens can modify them but they most probabily wont do it if they didn't supply the phone.

As an aside a point to note with the Siemens Gigaset is it is not compatible with Telkom SMS service - you can send but not received unless Siemens resolved this issue with Telkom that I reported over a year ago.

Ya i looked on the box its been icasa approved.

Also i checked in the manual and it seems it uses the 2 inner pins or what ever of the cable.

Its funny that the same thing happened with the previous gigaset i had , my friend got it to work, but he forgot how. lol

I am not sure how much help this will be, but I had a Gigaset many years back with the same problem, I made a note of what I needed to do to fix it, and just maybe it helps? (I am sure the menus would have changed, but try anyway)

Is anyone still reading this thread.

I have a Gigaset C340 with the same problem. The strange thing is it was working fine. I had an ISDN line in my house that Telkom removed a few days ago, thats when the C340 stopped ringing. My other phone work fine.

I can dial out fine. Also internal calls from one handset to another works fine.
