At least that is a plan one can relate to and comment on. Pity, something like this was not made public for all to see and maybe comment on right from the start.

This is hopelessly too complicated and nuanced. Seriously, look at all the queries and clarifications and exceptions that had to be ironed out over weeks for just the current level of lock down - that process will have to be replicated across five levels now. And we expect the enforcers, SAPS and SANDF, to keep track of what is allowed on today's level vs yesterday's level? Not a chance. This is a pipe dream, and smacks of a leadership totally out of touch with what they're doing.

They need to keep it very simple. Can you leave your house or not? Can non-essential goods and services operate or not? End of story.

I think it will go down to district level but I'm in the district with 2nd highest cases in the CT Metropole so I'm not going anywhere fast.

I notice places like Beaufort West and Cederberg have zero cases. Going to decamp there!

Currently watching WW2 in color on Netflix. All these people saying that the WW2 people had it worse, back in 1940's, don't know what they're talking about. They had it great. All those long walks on the Normandy beaches, flying about Europe, back packing through Europe. Having tea with the Fuhrer and Churchill. Seems like a heap of fun, compared to sitting at home.

According to the predictions included in the document, if the lockdown were extended, the creative (arts and music), tourism, mining and oceans sectors would only be able to pay 5% of employees at the end of May. The construction industry is also in dangerous territory, with 15% of its workforce likely to be paid. The aviation industry will be able to pay just over a third of its workforce.

The film and tourism sectors will retrench just over half (55%) of their workforce, followed by aviation with less than half (45%) of employees to face job losses, according to the document's projections.

The tourism sector will have business closures across the board, with three quarters of small and medium enterprises expected to be wiped out. The aviation sector is not far off, with 45% of larger firms expected to fail and 65% of small businesses to follow the same fate. More than half (55%) of small businesses in the clothing retail sector will also close down, and 65% of small businesses in the arts and music industries are projected to go under.

Certain smaller industries are being forgotten in this were the transmission level is very low.
Like hairdressers, barbers, tattoo artists, etc. - they should be open far sooner than level 1.

If domestic workers and cleaners are Stage 2, this is going to be a very long and painful lockdown (for both sides).

Edit: Ditto if construction is Stage 2!?

No mention of laundromats, my guess/hope would be Stage 3.

looks like we are at stage 4 now - hopefully we move to stage 3 soon ?

I don't see schools on the list so looks like we are homeschooling for a while still ?
