Corrupt Pictures

Ok, so I recently recovered some pictures from a busted HDD and while it successfully recovered the files, they won't open. It shows size, format, etc but I try open them with a range of apps and get told it's an unsupported/unrecognized format (it shows jpeg).

Any idea on anything I could try or have these 30gb's of photo's now been lost for good?

Try some recovery software on the hd again specifically designed for pictures. Sorry I know i've come across it once just don't know what it's called.

Is the HDD still in working order? If so you can try and run a recovery app and try and recover the images from scratch...

Maybe give PhotoRec a try?
